Very old pub, next to the cemetery which is why it gets its nickname as the gravediggers used to drink in there. In two sections, the pub which still retains the original layout and furniture, and the second part which is the dining section. Food looked very nice. Not much choice for vegetarians... read more

We heard about the tapas at this local, venerable establishment and were not disappointed. The service and atmosphere was warm, friendly and welcoming. The tapas menu was extensive and we had generous portions. Go for the croquettes. I'll definitely be back.

We absolutely loved this place. We were lucky enough to meet the owner and his lovely wife after sipping a couple of pints and having a delicious meal. This was our favorite meal in Dublin. It was quite the surprise to walk into such a lovely restaurant after sitting in the very historic pub. It is off the beaten path,... More

After a long tour of the fantastic Glasnevin Cemetary we had a wonderfully tasty lunch, served quickly and pleasantly at a very reasonable price. Excellent value, service and food.

Great spot for summer pints or anytime of year to be honest. There are an awful lot of "authentic" Irish pubs in Dublin but kavanaghs is the real deal.

We were recommended to go here by a worker at Glasnevin Cemetery. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and on Saturdays they only offer soups or sandwiches at lunch. Our family had both the special ham sandwich and the tomato soup with soda bread. The meal was delicious and very reasonably priced. The server wasn't super friendly and acted annoyed... More

I had a gorgeous time recently in the gravediggers. Gorgeous tapas food and great service and a lovely atmosphere. I will be back soon.

It's like falling into a different world and time but everyone was so friendly and very chatty too. The back bar was just full of locals as its extremely hard to find.

Wonderful old pub. Don't make the mistake we made... we went straight into the lounge and were really disappointed to find a perfectly normal, modern pub... It's the bar that has all the character... it is magnificent and serves the finest pint of Guinness you will ever have. It looks like it hasn't changed in 100 years! The floors are... More
