New old style pub/restaurant with very helpful and pleasant staff with lovely decor. Just close to the entrance to Phoenix Park and on bus routes.

Nancy Hands was supposedly a lady of the night, she left behind a beautiful pub and her name on the door. I guess she was successful. We only went for coffee and a scone as part of a tour, one afternoon, but were very well treated and we had a great time taking pictures of the whimsical bar and restaurant.... More

We ate here on a Sunday night. The regular restaurant was not open. Had lots of fun with the two bartenders. That served us. I had the warm chicken Caesar salad that was not just a Caesar, but had line nuts, blue cheese, etc. chicken was moist and tender. My wife had the potato leek soups with the homemade brown... More

We had an excellent late meal and a few drinks with some locals. Very friendly and just down from the Ashling Hotel.

'Pub food' is such a varied and loaded term. Nancy Hands menu could be offered in any upmarket restaurant. My husband's duck with cranberries and my braised beef cheeks were beautifully cooked, the sauces wonderfully flavoured and the vegetables also carefully and expertly selected and cooked. At the same time the kids were happy with basic pub nuggets and chips.... More

When you're wandering a new city, certain places just hit you right. They're embedded in your memories of the city and they're the vignettes that you gush over with friends. That's what Nancy Hands was for me. Was it gourmet food? No. Was it four stars par excellence? No. But it was creaky, cozy old place with hefty portions and... More

We had a late dinner in the upstairs portion of the pub. There was live music by a piano player that was nice but a little loud. The food was excellent, both parties had a steak and they were cooked wonderfully and had a great flavor. Service was great and the staff was kind and friendly. I would eat here... More

We had dinner here while staying at the Ashling Hotel. The pub was quite busy and we went upstairs and had a nice quiet meal. I had the catch of the day (cod) and chips which was a huge piece of fish that I joked to others that they could probably share it was so large. Not a bite left... More
