An good alternative to hotel bars

After booking a room at the nearby Ashling Hotel (3mins), we were happy to discover a local pub that had a bit of character in the Nancy Hands. Over the course of our 3 day stay, we popped in a few times and were treated to some excellent local musicians, good whisky (and plenty else) and a nice... read more

Our first night in Dublin a little tired so we wanted to stay close to the hotel, we were staying at the Ashling Hotel and Nancy Hands is only a few yards down the road. Looks tiny from the outside but it goes back a long way, we had no trouble getting a table. The menu was superb including a... More

the food is always good...its pub prices are on the higher end but the flavour is there and the place is always busy. And thats when there is an issue with service...when it is very busy you can wait a while...so if you are on a tight lunch schedule get your order in early or let them know

This is a welcoming bar with a great atmosphere and excellent food. There are several different areas within the bar making it ideal for groups who want an area to themselves, and several tv screens so ideal for sports events. Staff are very friendly and efficient and there is a really happy buzz about the whole place.

I can't say enough about Nancy Hands. The ambiance is wonderful and the food incredible. Dominic the owner came to our table a number of times to make sure we were well taken care of and he seemed so pleased that I ordered the lamb which was locally sourced from his farm in Kerry. What an amazing way to celebrate... More

Stopped off here after recommendation of the tour guide with a free pint of Guinness thrown in, I had Lamb there was lots a touch fatty but passed the test my good lady plumped for the Caesars salad wrap which was totally devoured which speaks volumes. We arrived early afternoon as Cheltenham was getting under way and the atmosphere was terrific,... Stopped in here randomly after a visit to the zoo and were really happy we did. Food was so tasty and filling and the atmosphere was a lot of fun.

We went during a big rugby match and it was as great place to watch the event! They have a special for a meal and a pint on Saturdays and Sundays and it's a great value!
