Great ambience, good bar food

Good selection of beers, wines to go with bar food, which was delicious and plentiful. Tables a bit wobbly, and bar can get crowded, especially on Sundays from 12 until 4-ish, but worth enduring as food is good. Service very cheerful and friendly. Right there in Clontarf Castle, Knights Bar offers delicious fish and chips, as well as sandwiches. And the portions are large. Service is friendly and the ambience is much like a pub. The best part is that once you're full, if you're fortunate enough to be staying at the castle, you get to go up to your room and fall... More

The bar was fine. For what it was, the food seemed overpriced and poorly judged, for example, I ordered a steak and Guinness pie which was served in a small pot. This was absolutely roasting and was hard to eat from, however the plate they gave me was too small to pour the contents on to. We were also ignored... More

I first wrote on Trip Advisor last October and last Monday paid a return visit! I was pleasantly surprised as the quality of service was as good as our previous visit! Our waitress this time was Sona from Slovakia - what a wonderfully friendly person. The meal was wonderful better than at a weekend and I will go back again!... More

Located within the castle, with original features! Fantastic service and atmosphere. The staff have so much time for you, and the Guinness is AMAZING! Can't wait to revisit Clontarf.

Loved the fireplace, ambiance and food. This is a favorite with the locals and they are very eager to share the history of their neighborhood. Great service!!

The waitress was great. She had a quick wit. The food was some of the best we had. The atmosphere was relaxing.

We had our daughters Christening party in Clontarf Castle. Highly recommend this hotel! We were very well looked after by kind staff ( one lady even offered to mind the baby beside me while I had my dinner)! The food was a very high standard and all our guests enjoyed it. ( lemon meringue pie being my personal highlight!!) we... More

The castle is conveniently located to Dublin town centre. The atmosphere is terrific and the service is brilliant. Pricing is very reasonable. The room amenities could do with some maintenance though but overall the rooms were great. Definitely stay again.
