Great bar - if you want wine, whiskey, or beer

We sat in the Knights Bar for several glasses of wine and pints of Guinness. The wait staff was very attentive despite a large crowd. They did not have mixed drinks, or if they did our server didn't know about them; but she didn't look at me too harshly when I made a Guinness float instead.

We stayed here in the Castle and wanted a quick bite. The fish and Chips are the best in Ireland! We had them along with our dark ale by the fire place. It was so romantic. Our servers were the best and just had a great time. Love this pub!

Good selection of beers, wines to go with bar food, which was delicious and plentiful. Tables a bit wobbly, and bar can get crowded, especially on Sundays from 12 until 4-ish, but worth enduring as food is good. Service very cheerful and friendly. Recommended for either lunch on a Sunday or a bar snack in the evening.

Right there in Clontarf Castle, Knights Bar offers delicious fish and chips, as well as sandwiches. And the portions are large. Service is friendly and the ambience is much like a pub. The best part is that once you're full, if you're fortunate enough to be staying at the castle, you get to go up to your room and fall... More

The bar was fine. For what it was, the food seemed overpriced and poorly judged, for example, I ordered a steak and Guinness pie which was served in a small pot. This was absolutely roasting and was hard to eat from, however the plate they gave me was too small to pour the contents on to. We were also ignored... More

I first wrote on Trip Advisor last October and last Monday paid a return visit! I was pleasantly surprised as the quality of service was as good as our previous visit! Our waitress this time was Sona from Slovakia - what a wonderfully friendly person. The meal was wonderful better than at a weekend and I will go back again!... More

Located within the castle, with original features! Fantastic service and atmosphere. The staff have so much time for you, and the Guinness is AMAZING! Can't wait to revisit Clontarf.
