The standard of cooking has moved on since the 1980s, but sadly not in most Irish pubs. Service was slow, order was incorrect, 'medium rare' steak was well done. Potatoes were cold. Was restaurant, not carvery.

We regularly visit the Halfway House for its yummy carvery, which is one the best in Dublin. They have a great selection of tender meats, perfectly cooked veg, delicious mash and gravy to die for! You can also get a smaller plate, which is still quite a large portion, and is excellent value for money. The food on the standard menu... More

Two of us stopped in for food on the way to a show in town. The food and service was good, nothing exceptional, wouldn't rush back.

Called in there recently on a trip to the zoo. We got the Carvery for lunch, all got beef with all the trimmings and it was amazing. I have to say it's one of the best Carvery lunches we have had. Gravy and mash were perfect, beef melted in the mouth unlike other venues.

Very good carvery on offer here, one of the best in Dublin. Food is always top notch, portions are a good size and there always seems to be a table free whenever I've been there. My family always enjoy the food too. We normally stop off there for dinner on the way back from shopping trips to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre,... More

Ideal for a family Sunday lunch but pricey. Food is good and seating rarely a problem even with the kids.

Visited here on a Thursday evening 2 adults and 2 children. Carvery open until 8pm most evenings which is great. We all had either roast turkey or beef and the food was delicious. Good sized portions , food hot and fresh. Price was €35 which included soft drinks which were only €2 for big bottles. Will be back for sure.

We dropped in here on a Thursday lunchtime famished after a business trip to Dublin, and this is indeed about halfway home for us. I had low expectations since the only other time I'd been here a rugby match was on the screens and it was bedlam. This time, a cosy, peaceful atmosphere prevailed. We were met immediately by very...
