Pigs Ear in Dublin

I'll start off by saying that the food was excellent without a doubt, but there were a couple of other weird and annoying things that make it a little difficult to rate. When you open the door to the restaurant you only see a flight of stairs. I expected when we reached the restaurant there... read more

Had a fab lunch here with a friend recently. We both had hake as our mains which was melt in your mouth delicious. I had goats cheese starter, which could have had less cheese but was pleasant enough and my friend had a tasty potato pancake. We finished with the best strawberry cheesecake, served in a jam jar, I've ever... More

Was really looking forward to dinner here, arrived to a rather perfunctory greeting but the two guys who served us were great, all good so far... starters were very tasty, St Tola goats chess is such a good product it's hard to do anything wrong with it, the other starter was the pork and ham croquette, again very tasty...really good... Great place, delicious food, excellent location and full of charm. Excellent value with food of much higher quality than the price suggests. Highly recommended.

I dined here and my comments are:- • Nice place; good atmosphere. • Food reasonable but not exceptional. I had the salmon starter which lacked flavour despite what the menu said, the meat in the shepherd's pie was over cooked to mush and the brown bread ice cream was pedestrian. Quantities much too small except the ice cream which was... More

Went on valentines night and couldn't have asked for a better meal. 3 courses and glass of prosecco €55pp. Service was exemplary throughout No pressure put on you to leave (although we were informed by email we were to have vacated table within 2hours) Fantastic choice on the set menu We both had pork croquette to start, I had salmon... My fiancee and I went for dinner here recently with my parents and it was really really good. The staff are so friendly and efficient and provide excellent service all round. The restaurant is really cosy, warm and welcoming and offers a great view over Trinity College. The menu is really good and offers a lot of options. I had... More

Took my team out here and it was excellent, if not tiny portions, of food. Wine was over priced but service was good. Really good, go for the good tasting food but not to fill your hunger.

A very nice place to visit. The staff was extremely polite and seviceminded. The food was excellent, very tasteful and delicate. Worth metioning in the Michelinguide. We enjoyed it very much. Go there, but remember to book in advance. Not a place for walking disabled people.

The food and the atmosphere were top notch. Such an inviting restaurant that felt like you were eating dinner at the home of a friend. The menu changes daily and knowing that everything is bought and prepared fresh is such a delight to the palate. And each table wouldn't be complete without it's own little pig figurine. We loved ours... More
