Worth a visit

Lovely meal at a reasonable price. Very attentive staff and plenty of them. Some lovely restaurants already in this area but this is still worth a visit as lovely food, service etc. Unfortunately there were two functions I rooms above so the ladies toilets were under pressure as there are only 2... read more

I booked this restaurant for a family get together after enjoying a work meal there 2 months ago. Unfortunately my return visit on a Saturday night in January did not match a midweek visit in October.. Service was very poor- a young waiter who didn't realise the wine list wasn't the few bottles on the back of the menu sheet... More

I went there with some relatives for a birthday celebration knowing that this establishment had a high (if expensive) reputation. My starter was tempura prawns (not cheap at €14.75). The batter was overdone and was too hard to be enjoyable. The prawns themselves were fine after I had released them from their over hard batter prison. For my main course,... More

Enjoyed a pre-theatre 3 course meal last weekend. Couldn't fault anything. Choice of five starters, mains and desserts. the pumpkin risotto was to-die-for as was the cod with chorizo and chickpeas. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive. A treat.

Had the pleasure of dining here on Saturday evening as part of an evening out with my sister and mother which involved dinner and a trip to the theatre. First of all I was surprised to see a pre theatre menu available on a Saturday, you get full applause for this, fantastic to see this offer at a weekend. The... More

Had a family celebration. Food was quite good but not wonderful considering the price. Wine markup significant. Service very good. Setting nice. Overall enjoyable but value for money pretty average.

We booked for 18th Dec 12.30, upon arrival the receptionist went to great lengths to tell us our table must be vacated by 3 pm. Our waiter was either exhausted or just bad tempered but there was no spirit of Christmas emanating from him. Our food was served promptly, no sooner was a plate taken away than the next course... I visited in November with two friends to try the seven course tasting menu which we had booked a month in advance. It turned out that there was no record of our booking and there were no seats available in the upstairs function room where the special event was to take place. It's at times like this when you get... More

Wonderfully situated and looking out over the park, the Cliff Townhouse offers some of the best seafood in all of Dublin. Enough said. The salmon and all other dishes are fresh, creatively prepared, and not to be missed. If you are hunting quality seafood in Dublin, this is your place.
