Dined here with family on 26 December, so our choice was limited since many places were closed, we got quite a nice table in the centre of the room, service was just ok, maybe they were too busy overall, food was ok but nothing very special, possibly suffering from seasonal fatigue, was pretty good value, we were going to book... We had dinner at The Cellar Bar during our stay at the Merrion, and were amazed at the very good value for the quality of the food. Everything was delicious, in very big quantities, and the service was good too.

Good selections of food for breakfast, either continental or full Irish breakfast, lovely choice of dinner menu as well and the food was delicious & very well presented. The restaurant manager & staff were very friendly, too. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice, quiet and quite relaxing, my husband & I thoroughly enjoyed having our meals in The Cellar... More

If you want a nice meal out you would find it hard to beat The Cellar Restaurant in the The Merrion Hotel. The restaurant is located under the hotel and as the name suggests is based in the cellar of the hotel and it lends to a lovely setting for a meal. The food itself is great from starters to... More

Three of us went there on Friday night. The staff could not have been nicer. They accommodated every request from one if us who is quite fussy. I ordered a bottle of red and in the middle of my second class asked the Maitre D was this how it should taste. He immediately said no took it off the bill... More

Authentic and delicious food, friendly service, unique architecture - without the general 'pub' rowdiness!

Atmosphere is superb. Like you're in an underground crypt ( but clean and fresh!) great bar food. Excellent burgers and salads and soups. Rotating craft beers amidst the staples of Guiness and Smithwicks.
