Cozy and delicious

Super convenient for those staying in the Merrion, the cellar had delicious food and wine. The leg of lamb was delicious. When our meal took longer than expected, they apologized and comped the wine without our asking.

Our 1st dinner in Dublin and at our hotel. Had a pleasant salmon entrée. My husband had his Irish Breakfast there every morning. Good but so overpriced.

This restaurant ambience is great, the ratio of staff to customers is very good. I enjoyed my appetizer and dessert very much. I had the chicken as a main and it was a bit bland, but I assume that is because they know that those of us ordering the chicken aren't very adventurous. Otherwise, it was a delightful evening out,... More

An excellent tip from our Dublin Bus tour was to eat in the lesser tourist areas. The Cellar is an excellent restaurant with a stylish atmosphere and serving first class fish and chips!

We visited this restaurant in June 2015 and it was an outstanding experience. From the welcome to the quality and choice of food to the ambience, it is hard to beat. A summary of do's and don't's: DO: book in advance; Allow ample time to enjoy the experience; Try the brown bread while making your choices; Discuss your choice with... More

Welcoming place, and amazing food for a hotel restaurant. Would like more light if possible. Great wine.

We were staying nearby at the Conrad and missed our reservation sat Shanahans so we ventured out into the Dublin late evening in search of edible food and happened upon The Cellar, which after finding out it wa the Merrion Hotel restaurant, I happily agreed to take those odds. We were led into a dungeonlike-like stone walled basement area which... More
