The Cellar restaurant of the Merrion hotel was an excellent choice for dinner on our short stay in Dublin. The service was very very good, with a hint of humor while remaining professional ( a young man from Croatia). The food was absolutely delicious. Very interesting pairing of tastes and beautifully served, and piping hot, which is a must for... More

Very good food, convenient, and reasonably priced for what it was. If I were staying at the Merrion again, I would consider this as a dinner option.

We were staying at the hotel for the weekend and on the Friday evening we thought we'd have a lighter, more informal dinner in the Cellar Restaurant (as that was the impression we'd gained of the Cellar Restaurant in comparison to Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud). The experience was different from that anticipated - in a good way. Smart, but not too... More

I was looking forward to eating here simply on the basis of it being in the Merrion hotel. There were three of us--two were there on business--and the food didn't live up to my expectations. Admittedly, some of it was nice looking, but none of us were impressed or happy w/ the taste. Finally, the dessert experience was just sad.... More

very nice location and good staff but let down by my meal which was only a steak. Very fatty and for the price I would expect quality. My partner had blackened sole and thought it was excellent, so disappointing

In the basement of the Merrion Hotel is the hidden treasure of the Cellar Restaurant. Our family had breakfast two days in a row, and were extremely satisfied both times. The food and beverages were incredibly delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Positive first - we had breakfast here during our stay at the Merrion and our waitress was excellent. She was very pleasant and helpful. Our cooked to order breakfast was very tasty. We also had dinner in the cellar restaurant but were disappointed with the service. The restaurant was half-empty and we were seated behind a pillar right beside another... More

We were delighted with our dinner our first night in Dublin- at their Cellar Restaurant, set downstairs in a beautiful coved dining room. The lighting and service was perfect! There is a varied menu and the feeling is understated elegance. Their Cellar Pub is a perfect pre or post stop. Highly recommend!

It was a shame that the place was almost empty when we ate here. The food is very good - simple but first class ingredients. I don't know how this could be done but perhaps more identity needed?

The food was great. Service excellent . Try the rib eye or the fish they both were great. They also had a great children's menu.
