Good selections of food for breakfast, either continental or full Irish breakfast, lovely choice of dinner menu as well and the food was delicious & very well presented. The restaurant manager & staff were very friendly, too. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice, quiet and quite relaxing, my husband & I thoroughly enjoyed having our meals in The Cellar... More

If you want a nice meal out you would find it hard to beat The Cellar Restaurant in the The Merrion Hotel. The restaurant is located under the hotel and as the name suggests is based in the cellar of the hotel and it lends to a lovely setting for a meal. The food itself is great from starters to... More

Three of us went there on Friday night. The staff could not have been nicer. They accommodated every request from one if us who is quite fussy. I ordered a bottle of red and in the middle of my second class asked the Maitre D was this how it should taste. He immediately said no took it off the bill... More

Authentic and delicious food, friendly service, unique architecture - without the general 'pub' rowdiness!

Atmosphere is superb. Like you're in an underground crypt ( but clean and fresh!) great bar food. Excellent burgers and salads and soups. Rotating craft beers amidst the staples of Guiness and Smithwicks.

Classy place, seasonal food only so you understand it is top quality (even if limited choice). Service simply amazing. Great choice of wine.

We primarily had the breakfast buffet and it was good. Server was slow at times, even when we requested something (for example coffee). Hotel staff was generally extremely nice and helpful, seemed to be less so in the Cellar.

We stayed in the hotel, so we had dinner, lunch and breakfasts here. Dinner: a nice meal from a fairly conservative menu, in pleasant surroundings (the white-plastered arching vaults of the Merrion's cellar dining room). Staff did not seem to work in 'sections' which was a bit confusing, but service was fine - it all arrived on time. Breakfasts: Nice... More

This was an average breakfast menu - minimal selections. Food was of decent quality but did not stand out.

Starters and desert were excellent. Main course menu was limited and the quality of the meat was below average. Staff very efficient, atmosphere was lovely.
