We may just have chosen the wrong dishes on this occasion, but you can have a MIchelin star set lunch in London for not much more than we paid here.

We stayed at the Merrion for three nights, eating elsewhere for the first two and tried the Cellar on our last night. The cellar it is, although a very pleasant environment with helpful service. We found the food very disappointing - pretentious pub grub was the best description we could come up with. We were surprised, for example, to be... More

We have been to the Cellar Restaurant for dinner before and this visit was just as good as the previous time. The staff are friendly and professional and the ambience in the restaurant is very nice indeed, there is plenty of space between tables and the lighting is just perfect. It is fine dining in a lovely atmosphere. The freshly... More

That wasn't a miss-spelling in the title, I had the sole and it was an almost religious experience. The best fish of any type I have ever had. It was gingerly swimming in a pond of garlic spinach and lemon juice. My partner had the venison, her first time, and she echoes my sentiments. The service was as I was... More

We ate here on pur arrival at the hotel but they said they were full and we said that we had arrived early and our rooms were not ready, they arranged for another table to be available for the four of us. Pleasant staff who could not do enough for us. We ordered wine and food, the wine came immediately... More

When a special occasion falls on a Sunday evening it can be a difficult challenge to find a top quality restaurant that is open. I wanted comfort, space, excellent food, quality wines and no time pressure. This turned out to be one of the best meals on a night out that either of us has experienced. No request was too... More

Dined here with family on 26 December, so our choice was limited since many places were closed, we got quite a nice table in the centre of the room, service was just ok, maybe they were too busy overall, food was ok but nothing very special, possibly suffering from seasonal fatigue, was pretty good value, we were going to book... We had dinner at The Cellar Bar during our stay at the Merrion, and were amazed at the very good value for the quality of the food. Everything was delicious, in very big quantities, and the service was good too.
