Great wine bar - nice for just a drink, or a very nice dinner or lunch

The Blackboard Bistro is conveniently located near Lincoln's Inn, and is down in a basement. It have been very nicely decorated, and the service is first class. There is a menu where you can buy 2 or 3 courses. They are a little pricey, but the quality talks for itself.

4 of us had dinner here - wasn't too busy good atmosphere if slightly draughty! We were using an email offer of a free cocktail waitress didn't seem to know about the offer and took a few minutes for her to organise the cocktails which were house wine with cassis. Drinks arrived with bread which was lovely, mains were good... More

My husband, son & I ate here early one Saturday evening last November. Afraid I can't remember now what we had to eat but I know we all enjoyed our food & we can be quite fussy. The restaurant is in the basement & is not very big - we were lucky to get a table at short notice. The... More

We held our annual Christmas party at this great little spot. The food was excellent, the wine flowed and everyone was very happy.

Lovely little place with very friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Were seated near the door which was cold so if you can move further inside do. I had a steak which came very small and burned when I asked to be medium cooked, but my friends had really lovely meal and one also had a steak which was cooked perfect. Staff... More

The food was delicious the evening we ate there. A cut above the norm for sure. I would go back in a flash. We only had time for two courses as part of the Early Bird for €28.00, instead of €32.00 for three. The restaurant is small and you must book ahead but the service was very pleasant.

Very good service. The restaurant is a bit cramped but the very good food made up for it. There were 6 of us and all were very happy with the 3 courses. At €32 for the early bird, a bit expensive though.

Visited with a group for a business meal. Food was excellent but the evening was spoiled by a live 5 piece jazz band in a very small room and only a couple of feet away from our table which made conversation impossible without shouting. My ears are still ringing...
