The Blackboard Bistro understands the simple art of Risotto and a starter of leek and bacon risotto with fresh oregano, lemon zest & creme fraiche proves this point beautifully with all the flavours balanced, expressive and just right. Everything else that comes from the kitchen is just as precise! Mc Kenna Guides - 100 best Irish Restaurants 2013

We booked this restaurant for a special occasion for a group of 10 of us. The warm welcome by Marianna made an instant impact on us all. The intimate setting provided a homely atmosphere. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. There was a good choice and the portion sizes were just right. A few personal touches by the... More

It's kind of tucked away and down some steps but when you walk in it's a lovely place. Not too big and not too small - just right and nice a quiet. There's a good menu with something for everyone - just about and a reasonable selection of wines (well they can't carry every brand can they) the food we... More

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant almost by accident and were we glad we did! We were made to feel truly welcome from the moment we entered, the tables nicely spaced, the decor warming. With a great selection of background music (set at just the right volume) the atmosphere was sophisticated, homely, and unhurried. The staff were knowledgeable... More

On arrival, we were greeted by Mariana who was very friendly end inviting. We were treated to a fantastic three course meal with a bottle of wine plus two glasses of kir royale. The atmosphere was very informal and relaxing, with an eclectic mix of music in the background added to the occasion. We would definitely recommmend this restaurant to... More

I met my friend for an early bird meal and it was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked and very good value. Unlike most early bird menus, the choice was innovative and tasty. The ambience is very relaxing and the location just great. It's easy to have a chat as there is no loud music blaring and the ceiling seems to muffle... More

Pierre, Jean and staff could not be more welcoming. It's a cosy basement restaurant where the food and service is always top notch.

Excellent little French Bistro well worth a visit especially early week when they have got fantastic wine offers. It's run by a husband and wife team who are supported by friendly and professional staff. The husband, Pierre produces classic French bistro style food from the kitchen. Interesting menu perfectly executed. Duck Confit and Salmon gravlax were memorable although the menu... More
