Description: The Blackboard Bistro understands the simple art of Risotto and a starter of leek and bacon risotto with fresh oregano, lemon zest & creme fraiche proves this point beautifully with all the flavours balanced, expressive and just right. I visited this restaurant with a friend for the early bird menu just before xmas .The place is so small it felt like you were having dinner in someones dining room - it was a nice experience though - my only complaint is that the tables and chairs are very close together. The food was excellent - portions are on the... Had early bird Dinner here last evening before attending show. Decor was nice, waitress was very attentive and friendly. My Moroccan Chicken was excellent, very tasty. However my wife's venison was a little on the chewy side. Overall good experience and would dine here again.

It was our first visit and it most certainly won't be our last. It is a small restaurant and quite simply furnished. You most certainly wouldn't dress up to eat there. It was a cold night and I could have done with a few sweaters rather than the dress I was wearing! But, putting that aside, we had a magnificent... More

This small basement restaurant opposite Ireland's National Gallery is a little gem. The surroundings are unpretentious but nicely thought-out, they make a very cosy and simply decorated space. There is (in my opinion) a tendency for it to be on the cold side - but, rest assured, you only have to pull a wrap a little tighter round your neck... More

My husband & I had dinner in this exquisite restaurant on New Years Eve. We were both delighted with the ambience and the service. The front of house staff were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious & superbly presented, we have no hesitation in recommending this hidden little gem in Dublin.

Our book club recently met in the Blackboard Bistro. We check out a new restaurant when we meet and at the end of the evening rate the book and the venue. Blackboard Bistro scored 44 out of a possible 60, which is one of our highest ratings. Food, service and atmosphere were great and we really liked the fact that... More

This is small jewel near Merrion square. It is a a super small restaurant in the basement. Inside it is very nice and the personnel is very friendly. The food was delicious. We tried a good bottle of Merlot, a nice soup and the steak. Desserts are great and include Affogato and Panna cotta. They have also a voucher for... More
