Food and service very good

Food and service very good. The atmosphere good. All in all, Comfortable viewing experience, a little bit expensive, however, with respect to quality.

Delightful eatery in the middle of town. Ham hock and cabbage terrine starter and pig suckling main course were both out of this world... Wife had steak which was cooked to perfection and creme brûlée dessert was exceptional! Staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome with our 3month old daughter. Go go go...!!

We needed dinner at 9:30 pm and was not having any luck. Our wonderful hotel, ocallaghans davenport called around and found Hugo's served until 10pm. We were treated politely and gently prodded to order immediately which was not a problem. We had a cauliflower tempura appetizer, chicken dish, a pasta with blue cheese, walnuts, and chicken, and a steak. The pasta... More

We had a noon Monday reservation, which proved to be unnecessary, as we suspected—we were the only table when we arrived. (However, when we left it was probably ¾ full.) I had the chicken sandwich, which was the best one I’ve ever had. I especially loved the bread on which it was served. My husband really enjoyed his meal as... More

Great place. We were looking for something nice and low key, this hits all the marks. Food was upscale but atmosphere was more relaxed. Very boho chic I would say, with heavy fabrics, dark wood and a wine bar overlay. We had pickled salmon and cauliflower starters and they we very well thought out and lovely. Main we pig and... Dropped in for a quick bite with a friend on a Wednesday night around 7.30pm. To me, it's that kind of place. I'd checked out their menus online and there was an a la carte option, set menu and also a pre-theatre menu. The pre theatre menu didn't include any details on when it was available. The set menu likewise... More

Thanks for your feedback on your recent visit to Hugo's at 8pm last Wednesday. I apologise if there was any confusion as to why we only offered the a la carte menu at this time. The set menu is a shortened version of the a la carte offered to large groups, and the pre-theatre, which has different dishes as you... More

Have been to Hugos a couple of times in the evening but last Sunday decided to try the brunch menu and yet again Hugos came up trumps. I really cant say enough good things about this restaurant, when you arrive you are greeted by one of the fantastic staff and from then on the whole experience just gets better. The... More

I love this restaurant. I've gone back three times now and every time has just felt 'right'. The food is exquisite, the service attentive but not overbearing and the cost is reasonable. What I really like is that this is all achieved with a casual flair, classy music and a sense of peace. Don't pick the window seats if you're... More

Thank-you for the lovely review and recommendation. I agree that the window tables, although the most requested, are not for very tall people! We look forward to your return visit. More
