Nice hotel for a home cooked meal - good jazz on sundays and the brunch is well worth a visit. Only tip would be not to sit too close to the band otherwise conversation is difficult.

we dined here with a voucher from grabone and even though the food ended up being 1/2 the price, it was still a waste of money as the food came out 5 mins after we ordered it meaning it was all premade and ready to go, the potatoes were cold and the hostess was rude. we were brought the bill... We were walking from St. Stephens Green and saw Hugo's with an open window to the street. Diners there raved about the soup, so we went in and had the soup/sandwich combination, served on a board and very plentiful. They advertised a strawberry dessert, but were out of them, but they sent someone to buy fresh strawberries and made it... More

Went there as a group to celebrate my sister's birthday (10 adults). The ambiance was nice, service was good and the food we had was tasty and well prepared. There was something on the menu which included an "overnight" tomato. I asked what an "overnight tomato" was and was told that it was a tomato that had been cooked for... More

Hi. Thanks for the review, delighted you all enjoyed your evening in Hugo's for your sister's birthday. In relation to the 'overnight tomato' I have corrected the waiter that the tomato is not cooked for 8 hours but placed in the oven at the end of service just when they are switched off. The tomatoes are semi-dried out thus intensifying... More

Love the food and ambience here. I think because of the location their prices are hiked up a bit too far.

We did not have a reservation and just popped in. The hostess showed us the menu and even saved a table right in front so we could people watch. We ran to our hotel close by and came back in 30 minutes. We were so glad we did. Such a fun night. We had the hummus plate and risotto dish.... More

Went To Hugos for our Anniversary on the 11th July and was not impressed I had checked the menu online but when we got there it was totally different. My choice became very limited as I dont eat fish. I Choose Goats cheese starter which was lovely, I had neck of pork which was very nondescript. dessert was supposed to... More

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review. Happy belated Anniversary! I wish I knew on the evening as we would have done something special to mark the occasion as we usually do. I'm sorry there was confusion over the menus as the menu change took place a few days later and should have had current menu own... More
