I will definitely remember that place, as was there for shared (with 2 friends) B-day evening. Great food quality, lovely place, highly recommended! Cannot remember the prices, as it was a few years ago. PS. I have tried frog legs there first time in my life as well :))

A lovely place for a romantic meal. It's fine dining without any prevention - wonderful food and great atmosphere. Request the table in the front window if you like to people watch while you're eating; otherwise ask for a spot at the back for a cosier experience.

5mins of walk from the hotel we stayed by St. Stephan's park. We had lovely dining experience here. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxing. All the staff is very friendly, pleasant, and attentive. The food is beyond our expectation from appetizer, entree, side dishes to dessert and coffee (their tee and coffee are all organic according to the menu). The... More

The food in Hugo was very good - we had the steak and chicken plus desserts. The interior décor was also very pleasant, and the staff were attentive. If you're wanting an early dinner in the St Stephen's Green/Merrion Square area then you would be advised to go here. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the lack... More

The food is ok, nothing exceptional. My Green salad was drowned in dressing. The beetroot side dish was tasty enough. Others reported their steaks were perfectly acceptable. But the kitchen is underneath the dining room and where we were sat a constant blast of hot air came from a vent under our seats. Had to keep going outside to cool... More

I loved this place. The decor was very shabby comfortable brocade sconces homey. The food is more high-end than you might think. The lovely waitress made a comment to me like "you almost licked the plate clean." That's because the portion was actually along the lines of "cuisine" with nice presentation and delicious, but "precious." My husband had better luck... More

Really enjoyed a family get-together here. Most of us ate off the specials menu and we were all pleased with our choices. Not sure how I'd missed this restaurant before, it has a great atmosphere. Keep intending to revisit

Had the pre-theatre dinner but did a few additions and subtractions to menu which was no problem for staff. Starter of goats cheese great, a bit ungenerous on Goat's cheese but really lovely. Mackerel main course had an amazing mix of flavours which did not altogether hang together but was very enjoyable nonetheless. . Superb desserts and even a request... More

Atmosphere and service were above average, as were the wine selections and the wine. However, we ordered the pre-fixe dinner and started laughing when the appetizers came: the portions were tiny. Our teeth got a workout on the steaks; one of us finally gave up.

Hi Marietta, Thanks for writing a review. Glad you enjoyed the service and atmosphere. I cannot understand how all the steaks could have been tough. We serve Lambay Island beef which is some of the finest in Ireland and, as we meal check all tables, we were unaware of this during your visit in July. I have passed on your... More

walked past this wine bar/restaurant a few times, thought it looked really nice and decided to try for dinner. Was really wonderful- great pre-fix menu, excellent food and wine, great dessert and very comfortable atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
