Unfortunately has all the hallmarks of a badly run chain restaurant. Menu looks good but the kitchen can execute none of it well. Service average and menu slightly over priced given that Steps of Rome is just round the corner and 50X better Italian food.

Cheerful, happy, slappy, welcome.....then it's down hill. Over priced,underseasoned,tepid.....Pasta that tasted liked dried cardboard. I noticed age of clientele has changed. The trendy 'with it' people have gone elsewhere, I don't blame them. Gone is the zippy, Italiany, basily, Olive oily, Mediterranean, food. Now replaced with blandy, cheapy,Irishy,Corn Oily,Dublin bay, food. CARLUCCIO HAS LOSTO EL PLOTO.

We were going on the Literary Pub Crawl which started just next door, so came here for a meal before we began. It was quick, the food ordinary, and the waiter disinterested. We were treated as though he was doing us a favour by having us eat there. Not impressed.

I found it strange that there is no tomato based pasta sauce dishes but everything else is great. Not a lot of vegetarian options but we shared a vegetarian platter and had bean and pasta soup and everything tasted great! Non fussy interior and spacious setting is welcome if you've been shopping and need to rest your weary feet.

I have been here a few times and always enjoy it, but is it just me or are standards slipping slightly? I would grade this place as average these days. We did have a lovely breakfast this morning but the coffee wasn't great, I was asked if I wanted more coffee, some fruit juice and if I would like something... More

Casual dining at its best....food really reminded me of meals I had eaten in Italy! Upstairs is less busy and so maybe a bit more relaxed. Ravioli delicious!
