We only had one night in Donegal and we were staying at the Central Hotel. The Market House Restaurant is located in the Abbey Hotel which is a sister hotel to the Central and right next door. The couple we were traveling with treated us to dinner at the Market House. Hands down, this was the best meal we had... More

I eat in the market house restaurant every time I visit donegal. I find the staff to be very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your meal and have everything at hand. I've had everything from a sandwich to a 4 course meal and a carvery for Sunday lunch. The food has never disappointed us.... More

We recently ate here for a Work Night Out and out of a party of 18, there was not 1 complaint! The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and tables are nicely spaced (nothing worse than the table next to you hearing every word of your conversation!) The Menu was fantastic - such choice! and this coupled with fantastic value,... More

Called here during the week for a spot of lunch. The choice was a carvery at around 10 euro or freshly made sandwiches/wraps. We opted for the sandwiches and they were delicious, beautifully filled and with a little salad on the side. the cost for 4 sandwiches, tea for 2 and a coke was 23.70 euro. The staff were very... For a hotel restaurant you are sometimes sceptical when you are on a dinner bed and breakfast deal, but I have to say I had no need to be sceptical at all. The Food was beautiful, well presented and service was professional throughout. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the staff were so attentive and courteous. Anne Boyle the... More

My husband & I have just finished a very tasty meal in The Market House Restaurant (Abbey Hotel), Donegal Town. We ate chicken goujons to begin and steak for main course. Both courses were served promptly by friendly, efficient staff ( Eimear & Anne). The goujons were cooked in a delicious tandoori dusted batter and the steak on a bed... More

We decided to eat at Market House based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were not displeased but underwhelmed. We were only given the early bird menu and had to ask for the wine menu. We felt the, service was a bit rushed and we were glad we did not order a bottle of wine as,the two of us would not have... More

Visiting friends in Donegal, we were recommended the Market House Restaurant.....we weren't disappointed! We went for the 2 x 3 course for €59 plus bottle of wine deal which was really good value for money. The food was excellent, steaks cooked to perfection. Special thanks to Anne Boyle and Kevin for their hospitality and friendliness.....not easy when dealing with a... More

We chose this restaurant at complete random as we were staying about half a mile away and wrongly assumed it was a pub as we were walking along. Upon entering it's clear it's not a pub, very inviting and not too bright, but with a friendly welcome from the staff inside. For €22 I didn't expect too much, but that... More
