This was OK'ish and was the poorest meal experience in a week in Ireland. Mind you that still makes it average, against all the venues I've eaten in this year, as the other Irish venues were all excellent.

The Old Castle Bar manages to serve up excellent food whilst also being a great place for a social drink as well. The fish dishes are to be recommended and there are always some tasty looking specials. The pub itself is attractively done out and is a little 'touristy', but it manages to maintain a traditional Irish pub feel.

And the melted goat cheese appetizer was outstanding. Our 2 waitresses were patient with our many questions and special orders and boy, were they quick! The atmosphere is cozy yet it is comfortably large and beautiful inside. Definitely the place to eat in Donegal.

We walked in off the street on a very busy night and managed to get a table. Our waitress was exceptional - bright smile and great attitude. The food was very good and the vibe of the place was nice too and reasonably priced. I'd go back for sure.

Our group from Rabbies Tour had dinner in this pub the one night we were in Donegal. Great food selection (seafood especially) and of course, of beverages. Fast and friendly service. A very busy place - indication of its great food and service.

We were in Donegal for one night and decided that this place was so good we would eat here for both lunches! I had a gorgeous prawn cocktail with lovely bread which was out of this world! The fish and chips are amazing too! Lovely old style feel to the place with lots of nooks to sit in. From the... More

Just finished a fantastic meal in the Olde Castle Bar. Every course.. Starter, main course, dessert.. Was just delicious. Staff are courteous and efficient. Liked the fact that they offer half bottles of wine. Great atmosphere. Very busy even for a Monday night which is a great sign. Would highly highly recommend.

By the far the best raw oysters that we have had in awhile. Staff was very helpful in selecting local favorites and didn't disappoint.

It has been a few years since I was last in Donegal town but I knew this is where I wanted to eat on our recent visit. We had a lovely mid-day meal here. The seafood was excellent, fresh and well prepared. The service was friendly, and the location both convenient and charming.
