Excellent

The best meal I've had in Cork in ages. Started with crab pasta which was lovely and moved onto venison which was cooked to perfection. I couldn't fault it. Even the dessert of sticky toffee pudding, which in most places is stodgy and filling, was light and just big enough. Have been around Cork a... read more

I popped in quite late one evening but they still managed to fit me in. I had the tomato and red pepper soup (which I love) followed by a casserole of wild rabbit with celery etc in a cream sauce and a strange pate topped crostini. Also roast potatoes (not as good as they sounded). The flavours in the casserole... More

I recently paid a visit to the Jacques restaurant which is now on Oliver Plunkett after they created a new entrance in 2014, and I was very pleased with the experience. I only tried it out for lunch as I was passing the restaurant with my husband and we decided to try it out. I had heard it was a... More

as the restaurant is full most of the time I passed it, I was expecting something really interesting and different. The food is good and interesting, very different from what is usually proposed (we had choice of pigeon, venison, roloto... ) but very expansive ( minimum 9eur for a starter and 22eur for a meal) The staff is very nice,... Delicious food, all the flavour of a top class restaurant and decent sized portions to go with it! Great value early bird menu, with plenty of options. Best restaurant we've tried in cork city!

I'd been looking forward to this a very long. I love fine dining but it is not something I can afford to do frequently and Jacques has a reputation for providing a top quality dining experience for many years. The general ambiance for an early booking was good and the service was very professional. The first little setback came in... More

We arrived with 3 extra people and no bother to fit everyone in - service excellent even when so busy, always one of the owners there to oversee. Food top class and very consist - always find it hard to pass the steak - plenty of choice and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good eatery

If you want to have a lovely evening drinking nice wine and eating tapas, this is the place to go. The food is lovely (the pulled pork is extra yummy and the dessert to share is fabulous), the atmosphere is perfect and the service is excellent. Be aware that they do not take reservation for the tapas side of the... More
