We have been to this restaurant a few times now and have walked away thoroughly satisfied each time. It is a smallish restaurant with a cosy feel to it. The waitress there is a genuinely lovely woman and a pleasure to chat to. She is also very attentive and we were certainly never left needing anything. The fillet steak here... More

Damn fine dining and good value. Interesting conversation with the owners, hard to believe it is in Cork for 13 years.

Had a wonderful meal here with my partner. Good service and wonderful good arranged food. We can recommend the cheesecake - filling but delicious.

Had dinner here in a small group of 5 and it was my first time at Star Anise but it won't be my last. The staff were lovely, attentive, humorous and friendly, especially our host Christine. We shared everything around the table as it was all so nice. The Cote de Rhone was amazing (we had 2 bottles). The portions... More

The place is really cosy and romantic and the food was lovely. i loved the duck breast I and and the desserts are amazing too. I want to thank the restaurant manager Christine. She was really kind and very nice to us and kept explaining many things about the food. A good night out in and lovely restaurant in Cork.

Tried this place based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were happy we did. As other reviews said, it is very small and the tables are pretty close together. We went early so we didn't have to deal with a full place. Our waitress seated us, saying that we would need to be finished by 8:30 as people with reservations would... More

I have to say the meal I had was one of the best I've ever had eating out. I had smoked chicken ravioli for starters. The pasta was so fine it just melted in your mouth, and the sauce was delicious. I then had the Barbary duck for main. The cardamon puree was out of this world, and the risotto... More

It was my first time in Star Anise on Friday night, I went there with my family (we were a table of 5) around 8 o clock, a very busy time to dine and I was impressed how well they accommodated us so. Its a small place with about 10 tables but I didn't feel squished or uncomfortable at all.... More

After traveling for the better part of 2 weeks with our 2 teenage boys, we were delighted when they offered to grab some fast-food for themselves, and give my wife and I a night out. We chose Star Anise [after reading TripAdvisor reviews] and were very glad we did. It was absolutely a fine meal. We had crab cakes and... More
