Myself and my friend went here last Thursday (6th August) for an early dinner for her birthday. We rang at 5pm for a booking (as they do not open till 6pm on weekdays) and they fitted us in for 6pm. The minute we walked into this cosy little restaurant we were greeted by smiling, friendly staff. Our waitress who was... More

Great little spot. Friendly staff, good menu and wine list. Handy location too. Would highly recommend if you enjoy French menu with a dash of Cork.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal in a fantastic atmosphere. The decor was very welcoming as were the staff, although we had to ask for the 'specials' to be read to us as out waitress had forgotten. But that 'slip-up' did not ruin our evening and we will definitely be back. Also very well located for accessing entertainment later.

Went to dine in Star Anise with five other friends and I have to say it was an exceptional experience. There is much more than food on offer here. From the minute we stepped inside the door, we were welcomed and shown our places by a very friendly hostess. Everyone of the group enjoyed their meals. I had crab cake... More

Had the pleasure of dining here during my recent trip to Cork city. I loved the atmosphere here; very cosy, genuine and a great place to spend an evening with loved ones. The food was high quality and reasonably priced. Without a doubt, I will be making another reservation for my return visit

Called to book a table on Valentine's day at 5pm, thinking we won't get anything, but the staff managed to get us a table for 6:30pm! We were welcomed by a very friendly and smiling staff that recommended us an exquisite bottle of wine that was going amazingly well with our food. Talking about food, being French myself, I felt... Myself and my partner dined here on a Saturday night. My frito miso was delicious, a very delicate tempura style dish. My partner has the fish of the day which was cod, again great ingredients. However was impressed us more was our lovely waitress. she was warm and responsive without being intrusive. She ran the room with little fuss but... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant on our first night in Cork, this then set the benchmark for all the other meals we had whilst we were there... and nothing surpassed it. I had the crab as a starter, the hake as a main and the creme brûlée as a dessert... my partner's meal was of the same exceptional high standard. All... More
