Description: The Workshop is a local family business where you will find a comfortable...
The Workshop is a local family business where you will find a comfortable relaxed and unique environment that feels like a home from home. The business consists of three different aspects: 1. The Tea Rooms/ Cafe Experience With plenty of comfy seating we set out to provide our customers with excellent quality local products served in a relaxed atmosphere. This ranges from delicious gourmet sandwiches made with local fresh produce, gluten free soups and cottage pies, locally baked desserts and freshly roasted Badger and Dodo coffee beans sourced in beautiful East Cork. We aspire to echo the service of the good old days and so we serve our extensive variety of teas in antique and vintage fine bone china. 2. Antiques and Vintage We've taken a backwards approach to the phrase "out with the old in with the new" in that you'll mostly find vintage and antique furniture and items for sale within the store. We lovingly paint and restore some of these pieces so that they can be up-cycled and reused in the homes of today. 3. Community A place where people can gather is the final aim of The Workshop, we are in the process of setting up weekly book clubs, a cinema club (where you choose the movie), art classes, weekly demonstrations and much much more.

My special treat

I've visited The Workshop on many occasions and most recently this morning. I love going there without the kids and relaxing and enjoying the ambience. I always sit on the couch and listen to the record playing and love looking at the antiquities for sale. It's such a soothing spot. Their coffee is... read more

Who would have thought that something as simple as coffee and cake could be made into such a wonderful experience. The querky surroundings of the workshop married with the wonderful food and pleasant staff turned afternoon tea with my mother into a new and exciting experience. While we were there one of the owners brought a beautiful piece of chocolate... More

I had visited the Workshop on a number of occasions for morning coffee and breakfast, but had lunch there for the first time last Friday with my sister and her baby. Overall it was such a lovely experience, I felt I wanted to write a review and share my thoughts, there are so many chain cafes around the place now,... More

I visited here during my 2 day stay with friends. We were looking for a place to have coffee and some lunch. I decided to take a look at trip adviser and the workshop was one of the venues that caught the eye. We were staying in the city so it was just a short drive to the most unusual... More

Having visited the workshop earlier this week, I just had to write this review! From the moment we entered, we knew it was going to be a 'different' experience. I had been told by lots of friends that the place had a special kind of vibe, and I was certainly not disappointed. The sound of the old record player, (... More

I agree with susand9433, it's a charming spot for coffee and a cake or a sandwich......it's not a restaurant. We had the soup & sandwich the soup was lovely but the sandwich lacked substance. The place is FULL of bric a brac, I think some of it is for sale. Its the kind of place you would check out once....

Hello and thank you for your review, we are delighted you enjoyed certain elements of your trip to The Workshop Tea Rooms. Unfortunately trip advisor has only 3 categories, hotels, things to do and restaurants. There is no coffee shop or tea room section for us to be better categorised within. However in the description on Trip Advisor of what... More

Sharing my home of Cork with the Workshop is in itself a reason to be proud. I can honestly say that my search for the perfect cafe has ended just a stone's throw from where I live. Many cafes have strived unsuccessfully to achieve the ambience that is so natural in the Workshop. From the greeting at the door to... More

Love love love this place. Hate even having to share it as it has become so popular. Everyone that likes quality food and a touch of class seems to be taking about the workshop. Excellent customer service. Setting is fab and the food delicious. Not to mention the records playing in the background. I'm a regular and for all you... More

I agree with the reviewer who was confused by this place being so high up in the ratings for Cork restaurants! While I agree, it's a charming spot for coffee and a cake or a sandwich......it's not a restaurant in the sense there are very few hot food options and no real breakfast choices. I had soup and a sandwich,... More

Hi Susan, firstly we would like to thank you for your review. We are very happy that you enjoyed many aspects of your experience here at The Workshop Tea Rooms. There are only 3 categories on Trip Advisor, hotels, things to do and restaurants so unfortunately there are no Coffee shop or Tea room categories that would be more appropriate... More
