It's got a short counter with four stools but if they are occupied you are out of luck. However they have some agreement with a pub across the street that if you buy a drink there, they will let you bring your food in and eat it. Same for a cafe also across the street however they will only let... More

This is the best fish and chips in Munster if not Ireland. Freshest of fish, hand cut chips and the most delicious onion rings. Batter was crispy and the chips were the best I've eaten. Only four chairs if you want to eat in but you can order have your meal outside the Shelbourne or in the Cork Arms. Can't... More

The Fishwife is the best Take Away I have ever been to. The food was amazingly delicious(fish and chips the best especially), the staff very friendly and efficient and the place very tidy. Would recommend to anybody.

The best fish and chips ever tasted . Wish we lived in Cork . We would definitely recommend this take away and we meet a couple from Scotland who had visited this take away several times . Brilliant

Stopped here for some chips on the way home one evening whilst staying in Cork on holiday. They were the best chips I've had in years...large portion, freshly made, really hot and very tasty.

Fish was mushy as was crust. Tatar sauce was really mayonnaise with a touch something else not palatable. Chips were tasteless. Really a beige meal. Staff was very friendly however.

I had the haddock and chips with mashed peas. It was very good. There are 4 chairs in the restaurant as it functions more as a takeaway. Great for lunch!

We were staying in a hotel nearby and arrived late. The porter at the hotel recommended this place. We placed our order and had a pint of beamish in the pub opposite where they deliver. Within ten mins our food arrived and they were without a doubt the best chips I've ever had. I ordered the scampi and chips. The... More
