We had the Irish Stew (Lamb) and the Fish & Chips (Haddock). Both dishes were delightful. The stew was quite flavorful and the fish was light and crispy but not too greasy. The chips were fantastic and the house made tarter sauce was creamy with a perfect amount of dill. The service was very friendly. They have live music 7... More

Just left The Oliver Plunkett, disgusted and hungry. My steak sandwich was inedible...blackened and tough. Couldn't chew through the meat so my husband tried it and couldn't chew through it either. we told the server who spoke to her manager. She then presented us with a bill for the entire meal even though i had eaten only the few fries.... More

Actually I think that the Oliver Plunkett is the most balanced solution in Cork when looking for a pub. Good atmosphere, large variety of good food, wide choice of beers, not too expensive, two floors with live music every night plus a smokers room (with counter, so you don't have to do in&out to get a drink if you want... On my first visit to Cork, this became my go to place, Great food, people, and pints of Murphy's! Irish Stew was simply delicious and the lasagna was meaty and tasty; a perfect follow up to the soup of the day. I highly recommend this place, Oh! live entertainment too!

We wandered into Oliver Plunketts after eating dinner for a few pints. I ordered the beers at the bar, and usually in the States you have to fight through people to get the bartender's attention, not here. As soon as I walked up to the bar, I was greeted and served. There was great live music, even on a Monday... More

It can be hard to find bars that provide live music. Not only does The Oliver Plunkett bar offer live music, but good live music. Staff are friendly and the patrons are friendly too.

The atmosphere is nice and inviting. The staff is friendly and Tim the bartender gave us a to do list after we told him our interests! Vegetarian offerings for the wife and a great Irish stew for me. Beer is the usual, however, one of the other gentleman tending bar inquired. as to whether I'd tried Franciscan's Rebel Red instead... More
