Top class bar. Top class food. Top class service.

One of my favourites with a fantastic and varied menu. Really good staff. I have had a christening there, fundraising table quizzes, lunch, dinners and drinks there. Always greeted with a cheery smile Top class.

My wife and I ate here recently and were gladly surprised by the fantastic food on offer. We had the chicken salad and the prawns in beer batter. Both of them were really tasty , excellent quality, good value and very generous portions. Service was also top class. Overall, one of the best bar menus/food we have had in a... More

This is an excellent spot for drinks. There's always a great atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. Food wise the menu is small but has something for everyone. What I like best about the menu here is that the staff are always willing to listen if you want to make slight changes. Have been here on a few occasions... More

Just returned from taking a group of Landscape Designers to Ireland. We all had dinner at the South County Bar and Café in Douglas. What a treat. The food was great, the atmosphere just the best and the staff were so friendly and welcome. It was Friday night and normally no music, but Tom the owner arranged a wonderful Irish... More

My aunt lives in Douglas. We visited for a few days and randomly came across this pub. My aunt had never been. We walked in to a music sing song session- absolutely brilliant. The four guys sang traditional songs with traditional instruments and charm. Terrific bunch. All three generations sat at that pub and had a great time. Nice pint... More

Good pub but for food no..just basically traditional Irish food gravy spuds meat etc. no big variety plus dark interior and a bit depressing to go for food. Recommend this place just for drinks go to all the other better places to eat in Douglas, like Palmentos, Eco's and Golden Elephant.

Hi Nathalie, I have just had a meeting with our food service staff and Head Chef and your recent review was discussed. We are all really, really disappointed that you did not have an enjoyable visit to the South County. What a great pub the South County is, lovely pub grub, fantastic Beamish and brilliant service. The atmosphere is great and has a buzz but is also relaxed. Highly recommended
