Food goood but service is very hit and miss

Heard about the new menu at 'The Weir' and the Crab Thermidor had me salivating before I even got there. We arrived at about 7:30pm and the place was buzzing but not over busy and plenty of waiting staff hovering about. Why then, was it that we had to wait at least 10 minutes before anyone came... read more

Myself, my husband and daughter decided to stop in for a bite to eat and a drink after a day out on Easter Monday. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside for a relaxing couple of hours. My daughter had the meatballs, which she enjoyed, but at €8 was very expensive for a child's meal. Myself and my... More

Bistro has great food and is a lot less expensive than the restaurant at the River Lee Hotel in Cork.

We've eaten here twice recently. The first experience was great. The waiter was exceptional, he truly was. The food was great (the plaice on the bone is a MUST) and we were offered drinks on the house to make up for a slightly under-heated risotto (also to die for). Top marks. On our second visit we decided to eat in... More

Tried their Fish & Chips and it was amazing. The service was great and very personal. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the restaurant in the hotel. I was staying there so it was an easy decision and so happy I went there.

The service can be a little slow here but The Weir Bar is definitely friendly and the food is delicious. Whether you want a drink, coffee or a light lunch or supper, there is a great selection of both food and drink. Lots of seating, including comfortable seats for those travelling alone.
