We went here for dinner last Saturday after hearing good reports about the restaurant. The interior is very comfortable with a lively atmosphere and very friendly and efficent staff. Overall there is very good value and nice choices on the menu. We started by sharing Garlic mushrooms which were delicious. We then opted for curry main courses which were also... More

We are not fans of carveries but this was great> Usually meat is overcooked and the potatoes and veg left standing to long. However Barry's was terrific. There was a choice of 7 starters and 6 deserts. The Bacon we had was excellent and the desserts and coffee were brought to our table when we were ready All for 18.50... More

Popped into this pub on Christmas Eve. Very busy and seemed more orientated towards a younger crowd with a DJ playing his set. To be honest places like South County are more superior.

We used to go here regularly and then heard that they had stopped doing coffee top ups so changed venues. Decided to go back for Christmas to give it another chance. The food is still good but they have become "mean" in their servings and extras - a sign of the times perhaps - pity because this was one of... More

Had a Christmas Eve lunch at the carvery here- very few other places were available. It was very busy but the line moved quickly- the food overall was excellent if standard carvery fare. All very fresh and hot. Two teenagers very happy and finished the whole meal- my soup was tasty and piping hot. Coffee excellent. It was not particularly... More

Was here on the jazz weekend in Cork and everywhere was crazy and to be fair in Barry's they accomadated us as best they could even though food service was closing soon, they still gave us the time to have all three courses. We could not complain about the food or the service. The food was delicious and the waiter... More

This is a great example of a pub which has reinvented itself as a Gastro pub. We ate here tonight with some family who live in the area. Advance warning was given that there was a vegan in the group. I had a vegetable risotto starter and stuffed peppers with rice and tomato salsa for my main course. The food... More
