Taste of Ireland overlooking the English Market

The English Market is one of Cork's few genuine tourist attractions. It seems only right to have lunch upstairs above the busy market stalls. We had a very nice lunch including some of the best soda bread I have had in Ireland. I had sausages and mash and my wife had the lemon chicken. The food... read more

Watch the world go by in the English Market below. Drop in for a snack (I was in a hurry and just had a spicy beef sandwich and coffee, gorgeous, and they were really quick) or a main meal. Sit at the edge and watch the world go by below. Great varied menu.

We nestled into our spot during a very bust Saturday afternoon. Great home made food, sat next to some interesting people from Cork who engaged us and it was a fun lunch. Great service and food on our English Market day. Lots ofmparking at a near by parkade.

Had pre-booked a table so staff knew to expect 6-7 adults 2-3 children mentioned at least 8-9 would be attending, yet our designated table really was meant for 6. It was a warm day and the restaurant was too hot to be squashed around a smaller table, staff seemed to busy pottering around to notice. Service was prompt and quick,... More

Part of the package that my wife and I got with booking at the Imperial was lunch at the Farmgate restaurant in the English market. The menu is limited as a result, but both us throughly enjoyed our meals. My wife got the chicken in lemon sauce and I got the fresh sausages. The chef accommodated my wife's celiac without... More

Very tasty lunches. Great place to see English Market from safe vantage point. Well worth the wait. No sign of Elizabeth R although her picture all over the place.

Great traditional fare such as bacon & liver, tripe or corned beef in a fantastic setting located in the famous English Market. We had liver & bacon (€13.50) with vegetables. All food is sourced from the market below. Very good prices with excellent and friendly service. People can have tea / coffee with cakes on one side of the balcony... More
