Great food

Had a great lunch here. Seafood chowder is a must try & the bread & butter pudding. The service was great & a great spot to people watch.

On a trip to Cork with a family member and suggested we should dine at the Farmgate - I had not been there for a few years but was not disappointed - the standard is very high. We wanted to sit in the restaurant and thankfully got a table. Chowder very good - we both had the fish of the... More

I have tried on may occasions to get a table in this restaurant/café as you really do need to book. However, we tried again on Halloween (Saturday) at about 14.30 and were lucky to get a table in the restaurant area of this establishment, has two section a café and a more formal restaurant area, both offer a wide range... We were extremely fortunate as we discovered the restaurant while visiting the market. We had no reservation but the Maître D accommodated us. Here on a balcony looking onto the English market we had some of the best Oysters ever. Even compared to the oysters in Normandy. Followed was a small plate of different fish, herring, smoked salmon. My wife... More

Visiting Cork for a bit of family tree searching. Didn't want massive gourmet meals but a real taste of Ireland - came here for lunch and was blown away by the layout of the restaurant, overlooking the market below, the friendliness of the service and the quality of the food - and drink...all at very reasonable prices. AND THE BEST... More

I just want to recommend one of my all time favourites . Locally sourced fresh produce. Great service , the bill won't break the piggy bank, not that I would dine on the swine. . . Visual feasts for the artistically sensitive . Always enjoy my indulgent visits and if you like to raise a glass, it's all there..

Expensive for what it is - 2 toasted sandwiches and 2 soft drnks about €17. More comfortable places with less pricey snacks.

We had breakfast here; one sausage sandwich and one field mushrooms and tomato on toast. Quality of food was very good and it was delicious. Strangely though, our two breakfasts were prepared in separate kitchens! The sandwich was from the griddle behind the counter and arrived first and then the mushrooms on toast arrived 5 minutes later (after the waiter... More
