Drove into Ennis much later than we planned, and arrived about 10:45p.m., and starving. Had eaten at Town Hall several times for lunch, but not only were they the only game in town at that hour of the night (other than then chipper and Chinese), they were incredibly pleasant, accommodating, allowing us to relax and enjoy...and it was fairly packed:)... The breakfast room was full so we were asked if we wanted breakfast in The Town Hall. We were on our own so the ambience was totally different but the food was the same. The experience was very enjoyable and relaxing. My husband fread his newspaper

Delightful stay at the Old Ground Hotel next door. They suggested the Town Hall Cafe. The crab starter was really fun and a taste sensation. My Halibut was gorgeous. The au gratin potatoes were light with a healthy dose of garlic. My husband had the monkfish and prawns and proclaimed this was the best meal in all of Ireland. Don't... More

Visited here for dinner with my mother lately as it is her preferred dining out restaurant of choice, however I have never found it quite to my satisfaction. There is not anything too negative per se, it's just not a place that I have thought, "yep, I would definitely come back here!". The atmosphere, I just found to be a... More

Had an excellent simple lunch here. Nice limited menu but what they do they do well with fresh, local flavourful ingredients. Had the fish and chips and they were excellent however dishes brought to other tables also looked good. Staff were friendly and helpful and the surroundings of lofty ceilings and large artworks were a joy.

Having never been to Ireland before this visit, I was quite concerned about whether or not the food would be good. I'd heard cautionary tales of "neck of mutton" and "trotters" and "blood sausage" and was not looking forward to any of that! My first dinner at The Town Hall Cafe quickly dispelled any trepidation I might have felt. On... More

I booked this restaurant as we were waiting in the hotel & I had read good reviews about it. We booked dinner at 8:30 but we had to sit in the bar till nearly 9:30 & wait to be called in. When we finally got to sit down in the restaurant the waitress asked if we would like a drink... More

Nice restaurant, the rankings of Ennis Restaurants on Tripadvisor I often find are not very indicative of the reality on the ground. The list includes quite varied types of restaurants. The Town Hall Cafe is not a cafe in the real sense of the world, but a nice restaurant. In fact, probably the nicest in Ennis. The main courses are... More

We ate here both nights while staying at the Old Ground. Beautiful space with large windows, stone floor, and high ceilings. Both dinners were quite good including dishes of lamb, and fish, along with wine. Desserts were excellent. One note, the place is quite noisy as there are many hard surfaces, which makes for a pleasant buzz or raucous din... More

Been here for lunch and dinner a good few times. Menu is pretty good, could be better, but it is supplemented by specials so I guess that's something to acknowledge. Food can be very good, but lacks consistency alot of the time. Its a bit like a game of Russian roulette when you go for something to eat here. Yes,... More
