A great place for music

After a wonderful meal in the Town Hall it was a delight to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the eight musicians who entertained the bar. They were an acoustic arrangement of traditional instruments with a lovely voiced whistle playing young woman.

Food was good and priced about average. Nothing special. I did enjoy the atmosphere in the bar and the service was good.

Delicious food! We each had a different dish and all were fabulous! Dessert was great as well! The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was welcoming although a bit loud.

I've been going to the Poet's Corner for better than a decade. It doesn't change, and you wouldn't want it to. Early-bird specials (before 4:00) are less expensive, and half-portions (when available) feed me very well. It's a small venue, and you would have trouble seating more than 4-6, but for a couple (or two couples) it's ideal. The decor... More

Great staff, atmosphere and food. The music is also very good and it is a busy buzzing bar. The bar manager is excellent and the bar menu is varied and reasonable with excellent service.

Myself and wife were staying in the hotel and visited. The bar food is really nice. We both had the burger which was home made and tasted lovely. There's plenty of staff and mho hassle getting a drink. There's a good atmosphere and was bustling on the nights we visited. Staff are lovely, something that the old ground has plenty... More

This place is always busy so at times struggled to get a table, however there is usually a stool at the bar to perch on and take in the atmosphere. Service excellent.
