Great service, food, and atmosphere. Worth a stop. Great food. The Chicken Kiev was delicious. Desserts were excellent. The service was tops.

The Poet's Corner bar is part of the very well-regarded Old Ground Hotel, situated in the middle of Ennis town. The lunch menu here offers a variety of warm/cold sandwiches, soup, chowder, along with a variety of larger meals and a (great!) dessert menu. The evening menu offers plenty of options including some for vegetarians, as well as a variety... More

Nice bar with good food at reasonable prices, in this quaint and lovely hotel. We only had one night in Ennis before our 8 day trip began, but this was a great start...good meal and good night's sleep

Pouring with rain in Ennis, not the weather for sight seeing - what a good thing we found this lovely place. Warm and welcoming, great decor and friendly staff. My husband woofed down the Irish stew, and the seafood chowder was perfect for me. We relaxed with a couple of drinks, idled away an hour or so, and left feeling... More

Arrived late staff were very accommodating next an extensive menu but what we had was good and well presented. The cost was not overly expensive and the bar/waiting staff very pleasant

It was Sunday night. Raining outside. We were a group of four who wanted to have a quiet chat. There was trad music down further in the bar. We enjoyed a drink and a chance to unwind after a lot of travelling.

Standard pub with average food. Busy and noisy but what you would expect in an Irish pub. Conveniently located on the first floor of the Old Ground hotel. Nice decor.
