I was expecting great things at this restaurant having read great reviews on Trip Adviser, although nobody had reviewed Afternoon Tea. On arrival There was no one to greet or welcome me so I popped into bar and told barman that I'd booked Afternoon Tea whereupon he showed me into Drawing Room, gave me a menu, asked if I wanted... Visiting Isle of Skye we soon realized not many restaurant was open. We were soon told to visit the Three Chimneys and Kinloch Lodge. We lived in Kingsburgh, the north of Isle of Skye, making the journey 1 hour one way but it sure was worth it. We came to Kinloch Lodge for both dinner and afternoon tea. Friendly staff,... More

If it's pretentious boutique hotel style you're after then this is not the place for you. The restaurant is in the ancestral home of the McDonlad clan on Skye. Its a very old building and there is nothing minamalist about it. You will get a lovely friendly welcome by very knowledgable staff who know their business. The food is fantastic... More

Our meal at the Kinloch Lodge was a memorable part of our trip to the Isle of Skye. We arrived at 7pm and didn't leave until gone 11pm so it really felt more like an experience than just dinner. We had canapes in the bar on arrival. We were struggling to select a wine so the sommelier bought us samples... More

Chef Tully has a Michelin star - very much deserved -one of the best meals we have ever had. Everything we had was just mouth watering

We had consecutive evening meals in the Lodge restaurant which enabled us to enjoy the diverse range of dishes available from the five course menu. The home-cured organic salmon on our first evening was a pure delight to both our visual and taste senses; quite stunning. The next course of perfectly cooked scallops with peanut sauce - a curious partnership... More

The menu choice is pretty standard as was the food. No wow factor. Wait staff showed their inexperience during service. The main let down was the surroundings, very run down and shabby country house feel to the bar and drawing room. Coffee jug was served with a tea strainer to catch the grounds!! Not what you expect from an establishment... More

After staying in a a few fair to middling Scottish hotels everything changed when we arrived at the Kinloch. The first thing they did wasn't to ask us to check in,it was to ask us if we wanted a drink. The cottage in which we stayed had its own sitting room with a roaring log fire and an honesty bar.... We visited the Isle of Skye to celebrate my husbands birthday and our six year old came along too. We ate here as our special night out and took an early dining time so our daughter could come with us. From the moment we arrived the service was fabulous and stayed this way throughout. We ordered the tasting men's and... More

We dined at the restaurant whilst staying at the hotel. Meals were full of different flavours, usually sourced from local ingredients. It didn't quite have the wow factor for us, but each course was well presented and structured and the portion size means you are not totally stuffed at the end of the meal. The wine list is pretty amazing,... More
