Spent a lovely time walking on the Isle of Ulva, culminating in lunch at the Boathouse. What a wonderful meal it was. The cafe was run by a young lady all on her own, but we did not have to wait for or meal, and anyone who came in got served very promptly. If you have time when on the... More

We popped in for lunch at this small "Café", not that easy as you have to get a ferry to it and this is after getting the Ferry to Mull! But was it worth it? You bet, I had Half a lobster salad, a big plate full for £8.50, brilliant! The staff were very friendly and efficient, they had to... More

Had lunch at the Boathouse today and what a great lunch it was the food is great and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff from Donald the ferry man to the girls in the boathouse have visited before and will certainly be visiting again next time we are on Mull.

Even if Ulva was not worth a trip for its fantastic walks, views and wildlife this cafe makes it ummissable! Tea, coffee, cakes local seafood and warming soups for the bad days. I dont think I have been anywhere else which has such an awesome setting. So peaceful.

World class position on the Isle of Ulva, just off the small passenger ferry. Tables outside with breath-taking views over towards Ben More on Mull. Ulva well worth it for the walking chances and wildlife. Lovely fish menu - also perfect for a cup of tea and a cake. Well worth the trip to Ulva and the 2 minute passenger... More

Doesn't get any better than this; Sunny, very hot day on Ulva, peace & quite, fantastic views of Ben More with a plate of Langoustines , crusty fresh bread and a nice salad followed by a pot of tea and a piece of passion cake. Friendly staff and a little boat trip across from Mull. Brilliant

We were recommended to go to the Boathouse for lunch. We found the menu somewhat 'different' seafood but still quite OK. We had the half lobster and the potted crab both were good, especially considering the remote location. All of the food seemed very fresh. Even though we did not have the cakes, there was a very good range of... More

So we decided to follow the sign for "Ferry to Ulva", just to see what was there and in the hope of finding a cafe. We arrived at the ferry to discover the only eatery was on the island. Yes, dear reader, to eat we had to take the 2 minute ferry trip, £6 return each. Dilemma for 30 seconds,... More

The Boathouse cafe is a must visit if you are in the area. Situated on Ulva and served by the ferry crossing from Mull this little cafe was a most pleasant surprise. My traveling companions thought the food was great. It offered locally caught fresh seafood and home made cakes. There is seating outside and the view is exceptional.
