Lovely and welcomed experience

Locally sourced lamb and seafood from Iona and Mull?! Yes, please. And own Organic garden? Yes. This place was GREAT for both breakfast (if you're staying there) and dinner. Wasn't able to try lunch or tea, but menu looked good.

If you arrive at Iona by ferry and want to have something to eat, head for this lovely restaurant/hotel. Don't follow the signs for the Abbey, but turn right along the sea front, with a row of houses on your left and the sea on your right. The Argyll Hotel is about five minutes walk from the ferry. It offers... More

I had a very tasty lunch here. Fish that was not battered! The staff were knowledgeable and attentive and the ambience of the dining room was attractive. You can also eat outside, when the sun is out.

We stopped here fro a spot of lunch after visiting the abbey and both had the soup and sandwich combo. The soup was lovely and there was plenty of it for a small portion. The sandwiches were made with local produce and were very tasty. Would recommend to anyone who is passing.

on the way back from St. Columba's Abbey, this was the perfect spot to get a bite on the way to meet the ferry back to Mull and then to Oban. The soup was nothing short of magnificent, and the whiskey took the chill off very well indeed. (rainy and windy day in Scotland, can you imagine!) Highly recommended.

Dear Joe Thanks for the review and your comments on our soup! We can't do anything about the weather but soup and whisky are a winning combination as warmers. More

We stopped at this hotel 25/5/15 for afternoon tea, not realising that they did not serve scones until after 2:30 we ordered our drinks, My brother and his wife have been a few times and they told us the scones were amazing. The staff there were impeccable nothing too much trouble, after brining out the drinks a waitress asked if... More

Visited the restaurant after a boat trip out to Staffa. Enjoyed an open Isle of Mull cheese sandwich and a local heather ale, which was followed by coffee outside, looking over the stretch of water that separates Iona and Mull. It was simply the perfect combination.

We had several visits to The Argyll and every time we were pleased with the food and reception. The principled attitude of the proprietors to the running of their Eco and green hotel is recommendable. Growing their own veg in an acre of ground will always guarantee fresh food. Hopefully we get the chance to go again.
