After a disappointing lunch at The creel, i was glad to find we were eating out at the argyle hotel, one of my favourite Restraunts after visiting for years to Iona had spare tables for the night.Delicious as always and the service was fantastic thank you again.

Biggest scones I've ever had, fresh from the oven with home made back currant jam and cream- beautiful location for tea and scones outside, weather permitting and lovely team.

Very good food overlooking the Sound of Iona. Food is well presented but the menu is not as broad as the St Columba Hotel. However, saying that, it was a nice location and very good service.

Dear Doris and George I am glad that you enjoyed the location and service. You are right about the breadth of the menu as we have a smaller kitchen. Thank you for your review. More

The dining area has a particularly lovely and harmonious feel - kudos to management for maintaining this and not trying to squeeze in some extra tables. (Reservations recommended.). Spacing, colours and decor, lighting, the view to the outside - it all works, and the food was very good, too The fish cakes are more like croquettes, and the mussels the... More

So disappointment in both meal and service. Good menu and atmosphere and looking forward to the first lobster in a while - it was empty and watery - could have happened to anyone but that where the bad service started. The quality (which was all the clearer compared to my friends fleshy version) was ignored when I flagged it up.... More

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed, but feel I need to rebut some of your comments. From arrival, which was 20 minutes late, our waitress then spent another 20 minutes answering your questions about the menu including the chips you wanted. As you specifically refer to our good menu you must have noticed that chips are not... More

We're vegan and the vegan meals were amazing and inventive. The staff also knew what vegan meant and were friendly and helpful.

Had a lovely Thai style chicken soup here after our visit to Staffa in the morning. Great flavours and served with some fine loaf. My wife opted for the Soup/sandwich combo and the open sandwiches are a bit different but very tasty. Really nice Dining room in the Hotel with a handful of tables in a conservatory which has fine... Lovely service and great food. No children's menu per se, but they accommodated ours very well. Everyone was happy. Have the Cullen skink if you get the chance!

Thanks for coming in and trying our food. I'm pleased that the service and food impressed. We do have a kids menu for the evening, but try and compromise at lunch time by offering half portions of the menu items. Great that your kids were happy! The review is appreciated. More

We ordered our sandwiches, soups and salads inside and then ate at the picnic tables outside overlooking the water. The food was good, price right and service friendly.

We visited during a day trip to Iona. Most folk were heading left so we turned right and stumbled on The Argyll Hotel. It was very quiet when we arrived but packed within 5 minutes. The restaurant is geared up to cater for the demands of ferries arriving and disgorging passengers. The menu is short and consists mainly of soup... More
