Almost guaranteed fantasic food from here, it's great. However Marcos fish and chip shop which opened up 2 doors round the corner (owner was previously a cook in the Wellington) is much cheaper although you wait longer on food being cooked.

The food was cooked to order so you will have to wait for a while but it is worth it. Good sized portions of tasty food. Good service from friendly & efficient staff. Reasonably priced

Was up in Ayr for the day and had chips and sausages from here, they were up there with some of the nicest chippy meals I have ever had. The sausages were proper beef meat, not your average crappy catering sausage. The chips were nice and fluffy and dry, not slimy and greasy. The portions are very generous and there... More

In Ayr for a night and thought we would try the chippy seeing it so busy. The girl serving seemed to be very annoyed that we had bothered her evening by daring to order food, and heaven forbid, a can of diet coke. We took the food away to eat in a local park and it was awful! I barely... More

I've been visiting the Wellington Fish Restaurant for years and every visit, without fail, the food is top quality. It is always fresh, delicious and the portions are always enormous. The service is also excellent. I would highly recommend the Wellington Fish Restaurant, and defy anybody to find a better place for Fish and Chips!

The girls who serve the tables are super friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is brilliant value for money, and made to order. I use this restaurant a lot in a work capacity, but also in a personal capacity. I enjoy going with friends as the atmosphere is so relaxed.

We visited Ayr and had a fantastic haddock, chips, bread and butter and tea. The service was excellent . The food was piping hot and tasty. It was good to be back in Scotland for quality fish.

My wife lived in Ayr many years ago and was looking forward to a fish 'supper' from Wellington. We ordered our fish and chips, which were well wrapped, and carried them about 300yds back to our guest house. On unwrapping the food, we were totally devastated to find that the fish was cold! On reflection, we should have gone back,... More
