My dad use to buy me chips from the Wellington when we went on a day trip to Ayr many years ago, yesterday I visited the Wellington and bought my own, the fish and chips were brilliant, second to none that I have eaten in a long time so much so I will be heading back very soon, reasonably priced... Wellington's is an "eat-in or take-away" fish restaurant - we chose to eat in. There isn't a lot of room for the diners, and all the tables and benches are fixed to the floor (a pet hate of mine), but the meals that we had were fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. Overall an enjoyable dining experience.

it has to be said when it comes to eating out we both love great food and that extends to the traditional chippie restaurant my wife loved the potato fritters which the lady serving gladly swapped her chips for the place was very busy and you have to be patient but worth the wait but what was so good was... Almost guaranteed fantasic food from here, it's great. However Marcos fish and chip shop which opened up 2 doors round the corner (owner was previously a cook in the Wellington) is much cheaper although you wait longer on food being cooked.

The food was cooked to order so you will have to wait for a while but it is worth it. Good sized portions of tasty food. Good service from friendly & efficient staff. Reasonably priced

Was up in Ayr for the day and had chips and sausages from here, they were up there with some of the nicest chippy meals I have ever had. The sausages were proper beef meat, not your average crappy catering sausage. The chips were nice and fluffy and dry, not slimy and greasy. The portions are very generous and there... More

In Ayr for a night and thought we would try the chippy seeing it so busy. The girl serving seemed to be very annoyed that we had bothered her evening by daring to order food, and heaven forbid, a can of diet coke. We took the food away to eat in a local park and it was awful! I barely... More

I've been visiting the Wellington Fish Restaurant for years and every visit, without fail, the food is top quality. It is always fresh, delicious and the portions are always enormous. The service is also excellent. I would highly recommend the Wellington Fish Restaurant, and defy anybody to find a better place for Fish and Chips!
