Not much to look at but give it a go

Had fish and chips loved the crispy batter on the fish. Chips were fantastic too. Service staff were very accommodating. Whilst I was waiting an old gent in front came in with an odd request fish and a specific number of chips! Staff didn't bat an eyelid simply gave the man his fish and counted out... read more

Made very welcome from the start. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent meal cooked to perfection. Even though the place was busy nobody tried to rush us. This was our 2nd visit, we will definitely be back

We bought 2 fish and a large portion of chips and a small fish and portion of chips which came out around £12.00. We did not think this was expensive. We bought this as a carry out and were not disappointed. The fish was not greasy and the chips were plentiful and hot. The staff were young but were efficient... More

I enjoyed lunch in the Wellington, good portions at reasonable price, quick polite service from staff. They also offer outstanding value on takeaway items. Centrally situated for both the beach and Bus Station.

Charged £4.40 for a single dressed fish and a small one at that, place appears to be run by teenagers who don't seem to know what they are doing. Never again, told a few mates of the experience so that was last time using Wellington Cafe

Had lunch in here today, I had the "pensioners" fish and chips, great sized portion for me, although anyone can actually have it, it's more like a half portion. My husband had the normal sized breadcrumbed fish and chips. The chips were outstanding, and the fish was good too. The lady who served us was superb, very pleasant and extremely... More

The Wellington Cafe is the best fish and chip shop in town. It is a family run business that has been established in Ayr for years. If you want great fish and chips this is where to go..
