Ate there a few times whilst stopping in town for business. Place is always clean, and staff attentive and friendly. I used to eat here when I was little and nothing much has changed. Have a nice dressed fish special if you fancy a treat, or if fish isn't your thing, the steak pie is gorgeous (just remember that usually... More

The food is great, the new lower prices mean that it is better value than it was in the summer. However, the younger waitresses talk to their mates and play with their phones while ignoring customers leaving one waitress to do all the work. (It took forever to get a can of juice and a couple teas before our fish... More

Easy going restaurant. Be sure to check out the daily specials. If you have the fish & chips, you will not be disappointed.

A homely welcome precedes your meal which is accompanied by friendly service throughout. Description of 'Small portions' leaves me wondering what regulars are like! Fish and chips won over varied menu selection...wise choice. Full house says it all!

My dad use to buy me chips from the Wellington when we went on a day trip to Ayr many years ago, yesterday I visited the Wellington and bought my own, the fish and chips were brilliant, second to none that I have eaten in a long time so much so I will be heading back very soon, reasonably priced... Wellington's is an "eat-in or take-away" fish restaurant - we chose to eat in. There isn't a lot of room for the diners, and all the tables and benches are fixed to the floor (a pet hate of mine), but the meals that we had were fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. Overall an enjoyable dining experience.

Almost guaranteed fantasic food from here, it's great. However Marcos fish and chip shop which opened up 2 doors round the corner (owner was previously a cook in the Wellington) is much cheaper although you wait longer on food being cooked.
