noticed this place on our way through Scone and decided to stop for a bite to eat. It has a nice atmosphere in the restaurant but looks a bit tired and in need of some tlc. Greeted by a very friendly waitress who showed us to our table quickly and was able to recommend many of the items we asked... More

The Wheel Inn is more correctly a family Pub that does food rather than a fully fledged restaurant. That said four of us of varying ages tried different meals ranging from fish to risotto. We all enjoyed what we had and the service was very good. The whole place has recently been fully refurbished and has a nice easy going atmosphere to it.I... This pub bills itself as family friendly and it lives up to its name with several families eating when we were there with varying levels of behaviour and parental control! For things that were within the Inns control, the drinks were good and the food, whilst basic pub fayre, was well cooked and tasty.

Disappointed today, over £10 for a steak pie that used to be less than £8. Asked for lettuce on my chicken bacon and tomato wrap and lost the tomato in the process. As usual very misleading signage re kids eating for a £1. Seen an old couple walk out after they read the menu as it is over priced and... More

Took a business client for a casual lunch at the wheel, on arrival only 4 folk eating but still had to wait 4 mins to be spoken to, we were eventually greeted by an Australian guy who never even apologised for the wait , as I had already been doing to my client. Ordered 2 starters only to be told... More

Just spent a week in Scone and visited the wheel inn on two occasions. We were given a table immediately along with the menu and whilst we chose our meal our drink order was sorted out. We did not wait long for our 2 course meal which was very good. The staff were very polite pleasant and helpful and I... More

We visited the wheel inn twice in July and both times we were extremely disappointed. Being locals we do frequent this restaurant quite often and find that food is generally a hit or miss but usually passes for a quick (although overpriced) dinner. Our first visit this month went like this :- walked into the restaurant around 6.30 pm on... More

We went to the Wheel Inn for lunch and had a great time. As the weather was good we sat outside in the lovely beer garden which has a great climbing frame that our children loved. The coffee was excellent and so good that we decided to stay for lunch. As we were buying adult meals, the children's meals were... More

First time we have eaten here. External appearance is in a weird 1970's "Country and Western" style. Inside, first impression was that is is very similar to a "Brewer's Fayre" type of establishment, i.e., probably part of a large chain. My experience has always been that if you see tills with large "touch screens" where the waitress just presses segments on... More

We haven't been to the Wheel Inn for a long time, in spite of it being our nearest restaurant. Based on previous experiences, we were apprehensive, but the food does seem to have improved. My lentil soup was splendidly thick, you couldn't quite get the spoon to stand up, but almost. Unfortunately, it did not have much flavour. Everyone had... More
