We haven't been to the Wheel Inn for a long time, in spite of it being our nearest restaurant. Based on previous experiences, we were apprehensive, but the food does seem to have improved. My lentil soup was splendidly thick, you couldn't quite get the spoon to stand up, but almost. Unfortunately, it did not have much flavour. Everyone had... More

My daughter and I took Granny out for some lunch to The Wheel Inn,Scone.I had the 500 calorie Moroccan Chicken-it was delicious!Granny had the Balmoral Chicken from the Specials menu, and she said the haggis had a tasty 'kick' to it.It was meant to be served with brocolli, which is not a favourite,But the waitress managed to change the veg to mushy... Was in Scone for a football tournament put on by a local supporters club at near by Scone Thistle FC. After a long day of playing 7 aside football the after party was to take place here. We showed up rather sharpe'ish after our team was knocked out so grabbed a couple of tables and just sat back to enjoy... More

I visited the Wheel Inn last night with a friend for a drink and catch up. Whilst there the staff turned away approx. 14 people who wished to eat in the restaurant. This was between 8pm and 9pm. They stop serving at 8pm. Surely in the lighter summer evenings meals should be available later. With the school holidays and tourists... More

Hi E1953 thanks for taking the time to give us a review. Our service times have always been clearly marked on our boards outside the front door and we do serve food all day until 9pm at the weekends all year round, however, It is unfortunate that not everybody sees these boards on the way in. With the school holidays... More

Wow what's happened at the wheel in we used to be frequent visitors until about a year ago , we decided to give it another go, we sat down in an absolutely empty restaurant at dinner time and wondered why,we soon realised the menu was nothing short of disgraceful , what happened it used to be so value for money... We were visiting Scone for the day and needed a place to eat lunch. It was a lovely warm sunny day, (a few big black clouds too), but we were able to enjoy a lovely lunch in the beer garden with the dogs. The service was good and the food was nice, and great value too. An excellent spot just... More

As I say the young waitress asked one of our group, did he want his cheese cake with his soup starter, to which I replied he would like it after his main course. Then 3 mains arrived , when we said we have not got our stater yet, the young waitress replied " oh sorry do you want them both... More

Visited at lunch time on a Saturday. The actual menu was not inspiring and we thought limited.(It turns out there was a special menu but only made aware of this on paying bill) The fish and chips were greasy and the portion of cous cous with the Moroccan chicken was miniscule! Think of a big thimble! Visited here before and... More

I was recommended the wheel inn by one of my friends, And may I say, What a recommendation!!! The food was absolutely delicious - I had the chicken skewers which were to die for (kudos to the kitchen staff) and my wife had the steak pie! But it's not all about the good food.. The service was impeccable, we had... More
