Great food from a delightful set menu, beer was excellent and wine was great. We loved it, especially the pre-dinner reception room.

though we visit the area quite often we'd never before struck lucky and found a table available at Knockendarroch when it suited us to eat out. The comfortable dining room is quite small, around 25 or so folk I guess and is reserved in the main by hotel guests so plan ahead if you fancy eating here - that or... More

We stayed at the Hotel and after a long journey up booked to eat in the hotel restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of food and service. All four of us had very tasty meals that were well prepared from quality ingredients.

High end dining - Michelin standard food, one of the best I've had without it being classed as Michelin starred . Menu changes daily. Nibbles and hors d'oevres in the lounge, drinks carried to the dining room. Room spacious and discreet. Get your order in before any large parties and the kitchen cooks in order.

We eat at a lot of good restaurants around the world and without being overpriced this was a rewarding experience. Having eaten at cheap and cheerful places that were fine after a week in Scotland we wanted a really good meal with appropriate ambiance and we were not disappointed. 3 courses couple of good wines for £95 was we thought... we went there for our first anniversary dinner and everything was very nice. We are very foodies and our standard is set too high. We were looking for a nice meal and we got that. the service was also very nice since we enter until we left with our stomachs full and a big smile on our faces.

Absolutely beautiful, world-class service and food from the moment we arrived. The lounge is gorgeous, with log fires crackling and whisky displayed in cases all around. We were presented with lovely canapés and ordered ourselves a couple of glasses of prosecco - when we moved through to the main restaurant, the menu was extensive and local, Scottish with a wonderful... Not so easy to reach if you are staying in town without a car, but definitely worth it when you get there!

We dined here on a busy Friday night and enjoyed the food, but found the Hotel a little old fashioned. The a la carte menu did not have many choices and I ended up with a balloting of chicken which was just okay. Overall we found it expensive.
