A great pre-theatre restaurant

Very friendly staff present a very acceptable range of starters, mains and deserts. As it is just next to the theatre, it is very convenient for a pre-theatre dinner. They also do breakfasts and lunches. Sitting outside by the river and a good way to unwind after a busy day.

The website shows only the lunch menu. Parking is very limited so that you may need to park on the other side of the river. The setting is superb but to appreciate it over a meal you will need to sit outside. The dinner menu was very limited, just 4 items for each course – much poorer than the lunch... More

Booked in at 6pm for a pre theatre dinner. We received a friendly welcome and place our order. After a 15 minute wait our starters finally arrived. The soup was great and my pate tasted good but the piece of bread it was served on seemed very tough to cut. Closer examination showed that it was, in fact, the end... More

We visited on a spur of the moment decision and tables were available on a Friday evening. Good menu here catering for all tastes with an understandably Scottish theme. We had the theatre menu with two courses food was great and plates were hot. Highly recommended.

Although I don't know what a three course meal would be like. The soup, sandwich, beer and coffee was great. Poor staff were run off there feet and having to deal with really impatient customers who were complaining that a sandwich would take 20 mins. But they were so short staffed that the chef was even out clearing tables. My... More

Called in yesterday liked the setting had a beer while watching the salmon jumping . My partner went to the bar and she said it looks really nice inside , which I agree it looks really nice , how looks can be deceiving. Arriving on time for our table reservation we were pointed to a table in the corner by a waitress who appeared to have little enthusiasm for our custom. Salmon starter was a good, albeit simple dish. For a main course I had a steak which can only be described as average. Up to this point it was a normal meal... More
