Good food and ale

Homemade food rather than the usual microwaved catering packs. Also had good real ales on bar, some of which are made on the premises in their brewery. Game pie was a bit of a pot luck dinner though; a mix of 5 different types of game, including Mallard duck and pigeon. Mine tasted rather old and... read more

We stopped here for dinner based on a tour book recommendation and were pretty disappointed. It was described as romantic with big wood beams and deep booths - not quite so. More like dingy. "order at the bar" style was tough as the lines were long (even though the bartender insisted that it "wasn't that busy yet"). Disappointing fish n... More

We last ate here in 2009 and had a good experience, requested a window table, and got one. This time I mentioned at check-in that I would like a window seat and we were seated at the best table in the house.(In my opinion) a two window table!, with a burn running outside, picturesque view. And now for the food,... More

We just happened to be passing and stopped off for a late lunch. We had some very good food to eat and the veggies were happy too. A couple of pints of beer from the brewery next door slipped down very easily as well.

The Hotel and restaurant are located a little outside of Pitlochery. Quaint little hotel and restaurant. Good menu, reasonable pricing with a fine selection of local cuisine including Haggis. I got the Steak and Ale pie and loved it! Also enjoyed beer from the adjoining brewery.

This might be a little unfair, but the restaurant was absolutely empty the night we went, and the pub was lively, plus the hostess said the pub menu was larger, so we opted for the pub, and the venison stew was terrific!

We ate in the Inn, the pub area, which had a great atmosphere. There was wide choice of food available and the service was both friendly and prompt. I tried the seafood pancakes which were tasty, and my husband raved about the Game Pie.

We have stopped here for lunch quite a few times now, and love the food. It is good wholesome, hearty fare, great after a day out in the fresh air. My husband can't see past the Scotsman's Bonnet, ordering it every time without fail! The pub is cosy, and warming, and the staff friendly. What can be nicer than sitting... More

We were made to feel welcome by the staff and the Locals. The food was very nice and there was plenty of it. The beer from their own microbrewery was superb.

Fabulous pub which was warm and welcoming. Food was average pub grub, but own brewed beer was good and the bar was well stocked with beers and spirits a real little gem and well worth a visit.
