It's like walking back in time when you arrive at Small Talk. And literally so when it comes to paying; it's cash only, but there's a bank next door. The visit to the bank may also be necessary because it's not cheap dining. But it's competitively priced with similar establishments and ultimately it's worth it. The service is of a... More

If you like vintage decor you'll love this place. The food is excellent and yes the carrot cake is to die for. The staff are very friendly. This is a wee gem of a place, if you fancy lunch it's best to book in advance. They don't use credit/debit card but there is a bank cash machine next door.

I've been here several times now, and always greeted with the same high standards of customer service and wonderful culinary delights. We booked a table today, as it's always so busy, and enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch with family. We all had freshly made soup and sandwiches, but couldn't resist the amazing homemade cakes as well. Despite being so busy,... More

Although I've lived in Perth for two and a half years, I only went into Small Talk for the first time in December with my sister in law. It is old fashioned and chintzy and bizarre and TOTALLY fabulous all round. The pea and ham soup is outstanding. I hate peas but I LOVE this soup. The owners/staff are all... More

All home made food, it is delicious. One person in our company said it was like going to visit his granny and having her make your dinner, which was a very special memory re-lived for him. Ambiance of the tea room is fantastic and is like going back in time. Staff are very pleasant, hard working and nothing is too... More

From the moment you walk in you're greeted by a welcoming host who seems genuinely pleased to see you. The decor is a cornucopia of Victorian kitsch that works so well together that I couldn't help but smile and accept the ride that this little oasis was to give me. The staff were all lovely and helpful and such a... More
