Description: Tim & Anna Dover work together at the restaurant, Anna is in charge of table service and Tim exercises his skills as Head Chef in the kitchen, and in his words..."My wife and I opened the Roost Restaurant in the village of Kintillo near Bridge of Earn, just outside Perth, in the summer of 2008. Five years on the restaurant is firmly established in the area and we are known for our extensive use of Scottish ingredients, which I prepare in the classical French style that I have learnt in kitchens at home and abroad throughout my career. We are proud of the strong relationships we have developed with Scottish food and drink suppliers and always produce a locally sourced, sustainable and seasonal menu. Our dedication doesn't end in the kitchen as we enjoy fishing and foraging for our own ingredients - including wild garlic, alexanders and chanterelles - many of which appear on the menus throughout the year. But nothing is more sustainable than our new kitchen garden that features vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant. Throughout the summer months we are able to use our own supply of herbs, salads and vegetables such as potatoes, chard, baby carrots, beetroots, leeks, broad beans and purple sprouting broccoli while flowers are also grown for the restaurant."

We visited here in the summer 2014 and booked a table for Christmas before we got to dessert. Very friendly, helpful service and the interior is stylishly muted and classy. There are probably enough tables /seats for 20 or so at a time which gives a more intimate feel. The starters are brilliant, have tried their scallops and the foie... More

This is a classy restaurant. We had lunch rather than dinner which was excellent value. It's small (less than 30 covers) and offers high quality fine dining. The cheese soufflé was exquisite and the lemon posset outstanding. The menu focuses on high quality local produce and the cooking is magisterial. A lovely experience-well worth the money

My wife and I went for lunch yesterday. Discovered it on a Google search. The most fantastic food you will find any ware. We both had different dishes during the 3 course meal and each one was exquisite. Good service and will certainly be returning. restaurant was full so booking is probably essential.

Today, my wife and I took my mother for lunch to the Roost Restaurant after finding them on "TripAdvisor", and what a find. We visited for lunch, and on entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the friendly and attentive staff. The décor was bright, simple and clean lines that really showed off the rustic roots of the building.... More

Very nice lunch and excellent cooking but I was disappointed when my sea bass was served - a whole 2" by 2.5" portion. That's pretty mean portion control.

Unfortunately my sisters and I all had the lamb so I can't comment on other mains but it was cooked and presented beautifully. This was Sunday lunch so we had a small menu but had no difficulty. The other mains sounded lovely sister 1 had butternut squash soup which she said was very good. She and I thoroughly enjoyed the... More

We visited here on Saturday night on our way back from Edinburgh Christmas shopping it was amazing. We had a truly unique meal and the service was perfect. The waitress we had for the most of the evening (blonde in polka dot top) was clearly very highly trained. She never let our glasses go empty and she was very attentive.... More

We visited for a significant birthday. It was a perfect choice. My partridge salad was suculent and full of interest, my wife's scallops produced noisy appreciation of their perfection. We both had the red deer and shallot tart which was lush and perfect, tender but well done on the outside while red rare inside. The jus was worth licking the... More
