Return visit - delicious artistry on a plate - worth travelling for

This was our second time dining at The Roost. Our last visit was in August 2013 when I took a snap of my crab starter - this has been my picture on Trip Advisor ever since, so that gives a clue to the high regard I hold Tim Dover and his restaurant in. This time we took friends that included... read more

I've been here a few times now and never been disappointed, so here goes with my new review. FOOD & WINE = Heavenly. The quality is excellent, variety superb, presentation first class, and the Fois Gras is the best I have had outside of France, and was as good as the French. The wine list has a great deal of... Dropped in with some colleagues for lunch on the way back from Dundee, called last minute and they managed to squeeze us in. We had the festive menu and it was a real treat, three courses of top class fare and a couple of very nice glasses of wine for £80. Its been a few years since we've been and... More

This husband and wife team in this charming restaurant ensure consistency quality. Best ingredients and an imaginative approach in the kitchen ensures meals are always up to scratch. Service is friendly but professional. In our fifth visit this year since we discovered The Roost, we can only be confident that our return will be sooner rather than later.

Had dinner here as a party of six. We received a warm welcome and service was very good. Food was outstanding. Overall a great night out and would definitely recommend for a special meal out.

Food wasn't good enough to merit prices. They use interesting ingredients but somehow missing in quality of main ingredients, for example meat was tough and difficult to chew. Waitress was pleasant but not much atmosphere in restaurant, design is boring and outdated. Best part was desert, very tasty and well presented.

Four of us went for Saturday lunch. We had a very friendly welcome and shown to out table. The Roost is quite small inside with crisp white tablecloths on fewer than a dozen tables. There is a set Lunch menu but we decided to select from the a la carte menu. We all chose different dishes; Chicken Breast, Cod Fillet,... More

The Roost had come with a high recommendation and I was delighted to share a Sunday lunch with family there. It did not disappoint... The staff welcomed us at the door and escorted us to our table. The restaurant, though short on space is tastefully decorated. The Sunday lunch menu choice was excellent. The food is cooked to a very... More

Went back to this restaurant today for lunch having been delighted in the past with the food and the service. We took friends with us who had never been to the restaurant before. The Roost is easy to find being signposted as you enter Bridge of Earn from the motorway. There is a set daily menu for lunch and you... More
