Tim & Anna Dover work together at the restaurant, Anna is in charge of table service and Tim exercises his skills as Head Chef in the kitchen, and in his words..."My wife and I opened the Roost Restaurant in the village of Kintillo near Bridge of Earn, just outside Perth, in the summer of 2008. Five years on the restaurant is firmly established in the area and we are known for our extensive use of Scottish ingredients, which I prepare in the classical French style that I have learnt in kitchens at home and abroad throughout my career. We are proud of the strong relationships we have developed with Scottish food and drink suppliers and always produce a locally sourced, sustainable and seasonal menu. Our dedication doesn't end in the kitchen as we enjoy fishing and foraging for our own ingredients - including wild garlic, alexanders and chanterelles - many of which appear on the menus throughout the year. But nothing is more sustainable than our new kitchen garden that features vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant. Throughout the summer months we are able to use our own supply of herbs, salads and vegetables such as potatoes, chard, baby carrots, beetroots, leeks, broad beans and purple sprouting broccoli while flowers are also grown for the restaurant."

Fixed menu lunch was amazing

We happened across The Roost by chance, noticing the brown tourist information signposting the restaurant from the main road in Bride of Earn. What a great decision it turned out to be to follow the signs. The small and unassuming appearance outside made us wonder if we should stop or not but it... read more

I booked this restaurant for my husband birthday lunch because of the reviews I had read on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. Food and service were excellent. Nice and cosy. They did not rush us during our meal and were there when required. Many thanks and will be back.

An absolute dining experience again, wonderful food across the menu, all of our party thoroughly enjoyed our choices and were jealous of what the others had to eat. Beautifully presented and with very good and attentive service. Mustn't leave it so long until the next time. A friendly chat with the chef as we left just added to the occasion.

I can recommend this place from the bottom of my heart! I was very pleased about the delicious food, the warm atmosphere and the excellent service in this hidden paradise. I also like the size of the place which allows to be looked after very personally. Good for it no to be on a front road but hidden for connaisseurs!... More

very good food, but I felt it a little overpriced for a cottage, in a village out of town, with no outlook. Where we were sitting felt waitresses could hear our conversation. Could not fault food, but lacked atmosphere.

my husband and I had lunch here and it was amazing. Menu not too big, I think just right with a variety of dishes to choose from. Quality of food was exceptional. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to visiting for dinner later in the year

Another excellent dinner at The Roost. Relatively small menu with a variety of interesting dishes. Service good and attentive. Price is the most expensive in Perth.

I booked in a family gathering, for my Aunt's (our daughter's Great Aunt) surprise 90th Birthday dinner. Being a favourite Aunt of our family, 10 of us sat down for dinner. Really, we have no words adequate enough to convey how good the evening was from arrival to departure. The staff were so attentive on the night, and during the... More

My visit to this restaurant was a wonderful gastronomic experience. The food is intelligently put together with care and thought. They flavours were so well balanced, the food cooked to perfection the presentation just right!! The menu is not huge, but the better for it as the choices are so well thought out and fresh. We had pigeon and scallops... More
