Good food and friendly service

We had a number of evening meals here during our visit to The Open 2015. The quality of food and service is very good. Be sure to try the pies (if they have not already been sold out).

This lovely traditional tavern serves great meals and has very friendly and helpful staff. This tavern although situated directly beside a busy road, has a magical tranquility about it that you forget about the busy road upfront. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden with our tea and coffee, they even had ashtrays and lovely flower pots on the benches... More

Me, my husband and 9 year old son stayed two nights at the adjacent Travelodge on the 12th & 13th July. Both evening meals were terrific, my son enjoyed his fish and chips so much he had them the following evening. First night I had a delicious cheesy vegetarian flan even though I'm not vegetarian. The second evening my son... More

I pop into the Glover Arms fairly often as its very conveniently located and relatively inexpensive. It's a very cosy pub with comfy seating and friendly bar staff. The menu is decent but the quality mixed. The soup is always tasty but some of the bigger meals are poor - they often don't seem fresh. The chips in particular are... More

Decided to eat here as it was convienent and adjoining the Travelodge were we stayed overnight on our way to Inverness. I ordered a cheese and bacon burger, my husband ordered a rare rump steak. We waited 50 minutes for our food my husband should of had onion rings with his steak but didn't have any so managed to grab... More

Atmosphere nice in the style of a quaint coaching house, it would seem that sauces are in short demand you must quickly take a few spoonfuls under supervision before they are removed. Food both the Steak sandwich and the strange prawn and scampi mix were overdone. Been a few times and its a bit hit and miss in terms of... More

Food is good, service is great, and the atmosphere and staff are what makes it excellent. Such a lovely building and staff who served us. Good work and keep it up

Another great experience at the Glover Arms! I have lunch here every month or so and it's reliably good. The staff always impress us with their lovely service (and humour where required!) The last time I was there it was a work leaving lunch and I'm not sure that anywhere but Glovers could have coped with us - we were... More

At the Glovers Arms this evening for a meal with friends, started off okay and starters although slow in coming were nice enough. I ordered rump steak and asked for it to be cooked medium, when it came it was extremely well done, grey in the centre and the steak knife had difficulty slicing into it. I sent it back... More
