pleasant ambience in this restaurant, nicely presented food, well served and tasty, reasonable choice on wine list
An attractive restaurant, tables well spaced although, on a quiet night, maybe a need to partition off some of the space. We enjoyed a very tasty amuse-bouche followed by an unusual but successful ham hough terrine. Main courses of duck and lamb were well cooked, attractively presented. Sweets were enjoyed without being memorable, all cold I think. A good selection... More

Where do I start! On arrival the surly barman with the quite clearly didn't want to serve anyone and only very reluctantly put more ice in our gin and tonics when asked. He gave the distinct impression that he didn't want to be there, not a good fist impression . It didn't get any better in the restuarant ,once the starters... More
Were taken out to this restaurant by friends recently. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff were really lovely but I wasn't completely convinced by the food. The amuse-bouche little soup taster was fantastic. I then had the terrine which was very nice. But the main course was quite odd and I wasn't convinced by it. It also wasn't very... More
Enjoyed a very tasty meal with friends. The menu was quite varied, with a vegetarian menu at the same price as the other. An amuse-bouche of herring with pomegranate seeds was served to whet our appetites & at the end, petits-fours arrived with coffee & tea. Dishes were well garnished and most helpings adequate, with the exception of the vegetarian... More

The food served during our meal was excellent, complemented by a fantastic wine selection and intimate atmosphere. The service appeared slightly slow due to the restaurant being busier than expected. This led to a few mistakes being made and the menu not explained properly. However, the waiting staff were genuinely apologetic about this and, in truth, this didnt impact the... More
This was my second visit to opus one and again i was hugely impressed. To start i had rabbit and black pudding and main was guinea fowl both dishes were fantastic. Staff were also great, cant wait for my next visit already.
The restaurant was lovely decorated. The service and food excellent. What was nice and very welcoming was the prices of wines . Been to many restaurants who rip you off for bottles of wine , starting price £14.95 which considering the quality of the restaurant I felt was very good.
The quality of the food here is very high indeed. Very well cooked and presented. The restaurent was very busy for a cold night in January with people making the most of their good special offers. They had to apologise to us for the delay in starting our meal as they seemed to be busier than they'd expected. It gave... More
