We have been several times to the Basil Cafe and have always enjoyed ourselves. Good selection of savoury and sweet dishes, friendly staff and lovely to look out to the harbour. Well done!

We sopped by here for a lunch on a night away in Nairn. We sat outside as it was a lovely day, the view is right in front of the harbour. The service was excellent and food amazing. We had soup and sandwiches, the soup was so good and unique and had that lovely homemade touch to it. The sandwhiches... More

I ordered the Cullen skink which had no taste and was simply watery. Won't be back. The waiters were nice which is a positive but the hot chocolates are luke warm.

Fantastic cafe. Whether it's smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast, scrummy sandwiches and cakes for lunch or tapas at the weekend....it's all delicious!

11.30am on a wet Sunday. Popped in after a rainy walk on the beach and were lucky to get a table for the two of us. Hearty Cullen Skink hit the spot. Food at other tables looked good too.

Found this place based on a hotel recommendation. Staff was warm and courteous, service was great, food was fresh, hot and home made. Butternut squash/lentil soup was delicious and the fish and chips were done simply, crispy and perfect

First timers to Nairn, we had a walk along the beach and popped in for a snack. Tasty sandwich , delicious waffle and great coffee. Would definitely recommend.

Lucky to have the insight to book a tapas meal that they only do on a Friday and Saturday evening. Went with 2 ten year old and ordered 9 dishes. Each dish that came, the boys tried and liked all but one! What a bonus! The food was homemade and very authentic and much much better than I have tasted... More

Found the staff great and very friendly, the owner (chef) found time to discuss the recipe for the best ever chilli jam. It was so fresh. The menu has something different on it which makes for interesting eating. I had the halloumi burger which was great. If I am ever in Nairn again I will revisit.
