good traditional food

I enjoyed a really lovely meal here - delicious steak pie, good chips and beautiful 'al dente' vegetables. Sadly the portion was so generous that I had no appetite left to sample the dessert menu - next time I'll be asking for a doggie bag!

On my last day in Nairn I visited this pub with my family. Two of us had lasagne which was very good, I had a burger which had a home made patty and another had a pie. Price wise it is cheaper compared to other pubs and considering the food was well portioned and tasty, I'd say it was one... More

Very dark bar area, small and staff were not very welcoming. Drinks are decent priced although service is lacking.

Dropped in for a couple of beers and the Steak night. The 10oz sirloin was cooked perfectly and the WooHa Lager accompanied it well. We enjoyed our steaks so much we decided to eat again the following night. The chicken stuffed with haggis was lovely in a creamy whisky sauce and spring onion mash. Would highly recommend. Also, the bar... More

Knowing the owner and being regulars a his other pub, we decided to try the new offerings at the Havelock. We were very disappointed. The pub was cold (literally and atmospherically), it was characterless and uninviting. The door to the patio was open on a cold day so the pub was freezing and smokey. The service was a little tardy,... More

Since your visit we have carried out further improvements and have renovated the entire bar and installed new heating. I'm sorry you didn't like the Guinness Gold Ale. It was in the condition it's supposed to be served in. It's a new product from Guinness and we thought we'd try it for some customer feedback. Perhaps, just not to your... More

Another location that has changed its look and owner since our last visit. The walls and floors have been stripped or redecorated giving it a fresh and airy appearance. My Wife and I had Fish & Chips and the home made burger. Both meals were delicious and the 1664 was chilled to perfection. Would certainly eat here again.

I'm pleased you liked the changes that we've made so far. There's lots more to do and we'll be working hard over the quieter winter season. So, hopefully, you'll see even more improvements next time. More

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Dropped in by chance expecting a basic bar meal and found it anything but basic. Had the halibut on smoked haddock kedgeree and it was absolutely delicious. My friend had shredded duck stir fry and said it was full of flavour. Nice decor in the restaurant a very enjoyable evening.... More
