Good food

Food good , lovely old inn atmosphere- my only complaint was the pork was a bit dry (but loved the black pudding mash) and the scallops and herring starters were lovely. Very busy so book in advance. Friendly staff.

Good eats and good service and decent prices. The surroundings were awesome - the castle, one-lane Rock bridge, old church and old cemetery.

The place was busy. Nice decor but slightly OTT. But I found it quite ordinary and the menu both disappointing & expensive.

Stayed in Nairn area for week in June. The area does not seem blessed with places to eat out but The Cawdor Tavern was an excellent find. Dined there 3 times during the week...menu varied and food always good and tasty and served with a bit of restaurant flair. Real ale also excellent. Prices reasonable for the quality. It seemed... Had lunch here with family. Stopped off after visiting Nairn proper. Tavern has lots of character. Serving staff were very friendly and helpful. Had the salmon and scottish cheeses. Menu has lots of variety. Many beers on tap as well. Very close to Cawdor Castle

This is a tavern that is not really a pub. We went here after being referred from our B and B. They have great food, great beer and a wide wine list. It's not cheap but it is great value for money. High Quality food in a tavern in the middle of nowhere. Amazing!

First of all, I must state that we ate in the public bar area, given that we had three restless young Beagles with our party! The staff were very accommodating and patient until we got them settled. The food we had (from the restaurant menu) was of a very high quality - creative dishes using fine local ingredients. The only... More
