The restaurant, was a lot busier than expected, however service was efficient and went smoothly.Despite being full we didn't feel rushed. The food was well presented and very tasty. Would definitely return.

The food took 50 minutes to arrive. The food took to long and we felt Ignord and the service was very slow. Some of the food was nice some of the food was not so nice. For example the phesent was very very tuff. The sausages and mash was a really tiny portion. Written by Skye age 9.

Thank you for your message Skye. I am really sorry you felt your wait was so long. I believe you had initially wanted salmon from the adults menu but this had run out on that occasion and so you opted for the kids sausages instead. The kids portion of sausage and mash has 2 proper Murdoch Brother butcher sausages served... More

40 minute wait for 3x Macaroni Cheese with no discernible cheese content, 7 bits of rock hard scampi straight out of the freezer ( for around £12 if I remember ) and 1 x dried out chicken. Absolute disgrace, and the member of staff just shrugged off the criticism ( obviously used to it )

Hello. I was most upset to see your comment on your visit this week and that you found your meal not to be up to scratch. On the day in question the Tavern was almost fully booked and I believe you got our last available table. Several of the other diners also had macaroni which was enjoyed and complimented so... More

A lovely cozy dinner, hearty and delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Had the haggis stuffed chicken followed by sticky date pudding, all fantastic. Highly recommended!

After a long walk with my wife we treated her Aunt to lunch at the Cawdor Tavern on 5 February, I hadn't been to the Tavern for at least 20 years so didn't really know what to expect. It has a lovely, homely atmosphere, we were seated quickly and given menu's promptly. I was surprised how busy it was a... More

We've stayed on the Cawdor Estate a few times over the last three years, so the Cawdor Tavern is our 'local' when we visit the Highlands in Scotland. The food has been great value for money and warms you up on a cold winter's night. The service is efficient and friendly. The tavern is clean and warm. Always reliable for... More

The last time I visited the Cawdor Tavern was a couple of months ago. If I have to describe it in short good parking space, nice country style atmosphere, cheerful staff, not cheap but reasonable prices, excellent meals and tremendous deserts. I will highly recommend a visit there. Me personally, I will definitively pay a lunch visit just before Christmas.

Just back from a Sunday lunch at Cawdor Tavern. The atmosphere was cosy, staff attentive and very friendly and the Christmas menu was excellent. Food cooked to perfection. Best festive meal this year. Well done Cawdor Tavern.

Took my Mum and Brother here for our first Christmas outing, and this place is a favourite of ours. My Brother had the turkey dinner with all the trimmings which was absolutely delicious... a huge helping with amazing turkey and an awesome turkey gravy. Mum had the seabass which was cooked to perfection with an amazing lemon sauce, and my... More
