A group of friends visited on a Saturday afternoon for a few drinks to celebrate a birthday and entered the restaurant rather than the bar in error and were met with a frosty state and unhelpful tone by the waitress. Perhaps it was due to us being in walking "gear". The waitress acidly told us that if we wanted a... More

Very sorry that you felt you were harshly treated by being pointed in the direction of the bar when you were looking for bar drinks. It really wasn't a case of trying to get you out of the restaurant as quick as possible but guide you to the bar where all the draught ales, beers, spirits etc are all displayed.... More

We recently visited Cawdor Tavern for lunch, having had many good meals there in the past. The restaurant was quiet with several empty tables and the two waitresses did not appear to be too busy. Our starters of soup and a cold pate plate took 25 minutes to appear and the soup was lukewarm. The fish and chips main course... More

I often visit this quaint tavern as it serves the most delicious food in a lovely country inn atmosphere. The menu is varied with many daily specials at reaonable prices. I had pre-booked our group of 11 in for lunch and the service and food was excellent. They make the most delicious soda bread to go with the soup. Well worth... More

Service was a little slow but the food was good and hot. Friendly staff and really nice inside. We enjoyed it.

we come here regularly and it is always excellent. I have taken, in older age, to ordering 2 starters, rather than a main course, so that I also have room for a delicious pudding. Our smoking friend enjoyed the fact that she could sit nearby in the sun and was not banished to a dull corner. The real ale was... More

Had dinner here with friends. Four of us, we had starters and mains plus two bottles of wine. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the white wine chilled to perfection and the red just right. The service and staff could not be faulted. We will certainly be back. Thanks to all at the restaurant for making it a great... More

I, one of a party of three, visited on three occasions within a week on an evening and at lunchtime. The food choice was very good and the standard of presentation was excellent. The service was quick considering how busy it was and the staff were very attentive on all occasions. The prices were very reasonable and it worked out... More

We had lunch here after touring Cawdor Castle. All 4 of us enjoyed the food with the woodpigeon and smoked fish plates being particularly noted. We also shared 2 desserts that matched the quality of the main courses. Adding to our enjoyment was the very well done cozy pub decor and the attentive and friendly service. It was a wonderful... After a good walk along lovely Nairn beach, a hearty lunch was in order and the Cawdor Tavern did not disappoint. It's great that dogs are welcome in the bar area - where there is a pool table incidentally. There's a good choice of food on the menu, plus specials, and we were spoilt for choice. We all chose different... More

We had drinks on a rainy evening the first part of August, 2014 at the Cawdor Tavern. It was a splendid time. Great bar staff, warm and cozy atmosphere. Laughter from our friends. I wish we lived closer and could frequent this place. Until next time, thank you for a lovely Northern Scottish pub evening.
