The last time I visited the Cawdor Tavern was a couple of months ago. If I have to describe it in short good parking space, nice country style atmosphere, cheerful staff, not cheap but reasonable prices, excellent meals and tremendous deserts. I will highly recommend a visit there. Me personally, I will definitively pay a lunch visit just before Christmas.

Just back from a Sunday lunch at Cawdor Tavern. The atmosphere was cosy, staff attentive and very friendly and the Christmas menu was excellent. Food cooked to perfection. Best festive meal this year. Well done Cawdor Tavern.

Took my Mum and Brother here for our first Christmas outing, and this place is a favourite of ours. My Brother had the turkey dinner with all the trimmings which was absolutely delicious... a huge helping with amazing turkey and an awesome turkey gravy. Mum had the seabass which was cooked to perfection with an amazing lemon sauce, and my... More

My friend and I recently had dinner at Cawdor Tavern. We enjoy visiting the Tavern, it's an enjoyable atmosphere to socialise in and the food is great. The service was also very good, although it was a shame that we didn't get the same male waiter we get most times we are in, although we were very well looked after!... More

Visited the Cawdor with a view to having a Sunday lunch. First shock ....2 beers almost £9, then asked for a menu 2nd shock, menu came 20 minutes later. The place was totally empty and no one was in attendance at the bar. When the young lady eventually appeared we had to remind her about our request for a menu. However,... More

Hi. Thanks for the comments. I'm sorry you felt your experience was lacking but a couple of points to note include the terrific range of beers and craft ale on offer. Taking the strongest abv, imported lagers is more expensive than our regular strength beers and our locally produced craft ales. They are taxed more, more expensive for us to... More

We were staying in the area, and the B&B owner suggested this spot for dinner. Well, it was very hard to find, but that is not the tavern's fault, as it is in a village in the countryside outside Inverness. It was very impressive looking from the outside and nicely decorated on the inside. The food we had was excellent.... More

Thank you for your comments on your recent visit. I am delighted you enjoyed your meal with us but sorry hear you felt the service wasn't so good. I am a wee bit puzzled, however, at you saying you waited 15 minutes at your table to be greeted as we meet all guests at the door and seat them ourselves... More

Went for lunch for the 2 course special menu. Choices of 4 starters and 5 main courses. Food was just average nothing more than home cooked food but then for the price you pay can't really expect much more. Nothing to shout about. Probably would not return.

Hi, thanks for the comments and sorry to hear you were not impressed with our November Lunch offer. It has been hugely popular and many repeat customers so I am pleased to report that most people find the menu selections to have ample choice and two courses for the price was a bargain. In addition to the offer menu we... More

Early evenig service unexpectedly very slow. Waited exactly one hour from order to food arriving at table. Then another half hour from ordering till sweet arrived (after prompting waitress). Disappointed with quality of food. When waitress asked about meal told her our views (tasteless chicken, dry burger, uncooked potatoes). Again asked about meal when paying. Neither member of staff offered... More

visited with a friend for dinner in the evening. We booked a table but really no need as the restaurant was very quiet. Service was quick and efficient. Fairly good choice on menu. Food was delicious and well presented. However we did find it quite pricey. Considering Cawdor Tavern is a fair drive from the city centre a car is... More
