Really good food and brilliant customer service

We chose to dine here because of its proximity to Inverness Airport as we were meeting someone off a plane due to arrive about 7:30. We booked a table for 8 and then on the day found that the flight was delayed so we changed our booking only for the delay to be rescinded so we changed the booking... read more

Booked last minute no problem, food was absolutely fabulous, tasty and very well presented. Service brilliant despite Arlene being on her own! While since we've been her but can't wait to go again it was so good and very reasonably priced. You get what you pay for here! Added bonus of picking up birthday present from selection of Orkney Brewery... More

This isn't exactly a place you will drop by easily but if you do want good food and a old style pub this is the place to go. It will be well worth the drive out to it. The service is very good and the photo's that others have added are spot on representation of the quality, and the flavour... More

We were recommended to The Cawdor Tavern by Bradley at Beach Cottage B&B on the outskirts of Inverness. We arrived for dinner and were seated quickly in a very characterful restaurant. Great service, friendly helpful staff and the food was brilliant. Highly recommended

Visited for Sunday lunch and managed to get a table for 2pm. The car park was full and the pub had a great atmosphere inside. Some items had already sold out on the menu, but the menu is large so not a real problem. Ordered Pigeon and duck for starters, bot were excellent. We were offered bread with the starters... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by Brad, the owner of Beach Cottage B&B. We visited last Wednesday evening on our way back from Grantown on Spey. The staff were very welcoming and we opted to have the Christmas menu. I had the pate followed by the braised beef, both of which were delicious and my husband had garlic mushrooms... More

We come here with visitors as it's handy for the castle and the east beach at Nairn. This visit was hampered by a rescue from an island off the beach (not us!) but even though we were over half an hour late the staff couldn't've been more friendly. They were busy and no doubt it caused them issues but they... More

This pub has a great vibe, a cozy feel and a menu that's just that little bit different to the other pubs around. The specials menu is special indeed- so much so that we came back two nights in a row. Our best pub meal of the Scottish part of the trip so far.

We had read about this restaurant, so had great expectations of the food. These expectations were met and even exceeded, by tasty, beautifully presented food. Hearing the reactions of other diners, everyone was very impressed with the standard of the food. Set in the little village of Cawdor, it is easy to reach from Inverness and the restaurant and bar... Great atmosphere. Busy in the bar area but extremely slow service. From time of ordering to being served with our food, it took 50 minutes. It would have been good if we had been informed especially if there was a problem in the kitchen. It wasn't as if it was exceptionally busy.

Thank you for your recent review. I was sorry to hear you had such a long a long wait on Sunday and felt there was no explanation offered. There was a couple of issues during Sunday service which were a little difficult for the team but I have passed on your comments about communicating the message and we are sorry... More
