Nice stop for lunch

It's a very unassuming building from outside, but the food was well prepared, including most notably the home made chocolate cake! Decent food at a decent price, and a great location.

We have dined here numerous times in the last few months normally with visiting friends, and every time the food has been outstanding with good variety and portion sizes. The owners are friendly and welcoming as are the waitresses especially Jane who goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your meal. The breakfast's are also well worth... More

Last time we visited the Jac-o-bite was in 2008, before they built the self catering rooms and made the restaurant smaller. I must say that even though it has been modernised - we preferred it how it was before ( with the tartan decor and the tables all next to the windows). Now it feels like it's trying "too hard"... We arrived her at 2.35pm hoping for a coffee only to find that the place is closed between 2.30 and 5.30. It's only a cafe/snack place so surely it wasn't to much to expect it to be open in the afternoon. obviously the owners don't care about their customers. What opportunities they are missing.

It sits right by the side of the road in Kintail just North West of Shiel Bridge and before you can see Eileen Donan. It looks like a temporary roadside caff however it vastly exceeds any expectations you might as a result have. There is a good, although as noted not huge, range of good food on offer. There is... A truly excellent place to eat. The owners and staff are friendly and efficient and the food was cooked and presented perfectly. The restaurant is easy to find and has ample parking for even the largest of camper vans. We ate their three times over our week long stay in this beautiful area and I was delighted with the whole... Amazing views, restaurant in a beautiful location - staff fantastically helpful and friendly- good range of dishes all cooked fresh, kids had fish and chips and scampi and chips which were superb, we had the salmon and venison steak, again superb, puddings were great, an amazing ice cream sundae and homemade chocolate cake and malteser cake were all demolished -... Visit the area many times of the years and it never fails to amaze me. The Jacobite is a place that certainly deserves a visit especially now its been turned into a small motel with fantastic rooms next door to the restaurant/cafe. Its open from morning to night (hasn't always done this) so really pleased us. Scampi I had was... More

We went there for dinner, judging from other reviews the specials aren't so special as they don't change at all. We had a crab, which turned out to be a cheap store bought kind of cold crab/fish salad, stuffed in a crab shell (~12 gbp). The salmon in a whisky sauce is a disaster with a typical supermarket salmon fillet... More

This little restaurant is in an exceptional location (albeit on a busy 'A' road) directly opposite Loch Duich and the views are spectacular. We hadn't booked but we were greeted with a smile and shown to a table, the menu is not huge, which is not a bad thing and there are daily specials available. The atmosphere is friendly and... More
