Loch Duich was our holiday destination. After a very long car journey and running out of time to find somewhere to eat we decided to try our luck at this unprepossessing restaurant set on the banks of the loch. It felt SO good to receive a warm welcome and we sat down to chat with the owner and relaxed dining... More

As soon as we got the wheelchair out of the car the manageress came over to open the second door for access, that impressed me we usually have to wait for someone or open the doors ourselves. The excellent service continued inside, only one person serving and one person cooking but they still managed to provide a really quick service.... More

We visited the Jacobite three times in total on our recent holiday to Scotland. A friendly smile welcomed us each time. We had the haddock in beer batter, which was excellent and you must try the sweet & sour chicken, my husband loved it. The sherry trifle, and the clootie dumpling with custard is to die for. It is well... More

This wasn't the best place I have eaten, but it wasn't the worst either. I couldn't face going in last year as it looked like a cheap diner from outside and the menu wasn't anything special. This time, I was determined to give it a go. A pleasant smile greeted us and I asked if we could sit along the... More

We called in on our way back to Inverness. My wife had the Smoked Mackerel and I had Mushrooms stuffed with Haggis in batter, followed by Lambs Liver and Bacon and Venison Sausages in Onion Gravy .The portions were so big we could have had the starters as our main meal. The Liver and Bacon was the best I have ever had.... More

We thought the name was cheesy, but were so hungry we didn't care. Location is beautiful, with a view of the loch just across the road. Boy were we (pleasantly) surprised! Phenomenal local salmon (smoked) and peppered mackerel in generous portions for a quite reasonable price. We were enroute to Skye, and would likely have returned the next evening had... More

Lovely position and very clean. The view from the windows is gorgeous and the food though basic was nicely cooked and well presented. Staff were very helpful and efficient. Pleasant experience.

The road-stop café type diner was what you would expect. Typical menu with all the favourites, fish and chips, scampi etc... Staff were very mannerly and welcoming. Good views. Reasonably priced evening meal. Would return.

We were anxious find somewhere to stop for lunch and it was running late. First of all, we drove straight past The Jac-O-Bite because it looked like a cheap American diner. However, needs must and we eventually turned round and went back there - and how glad I am that we did!! Inside, the large dining area is comfortable and... More
