A surprising little Gem

It sits right by the side of the road in Kintail just North West of Shiel Bridge and before you can see Eileen Donan. It looks like a temporary roadside caff however it vastly exceeds any expectations you might as a result have. There is a good, although as noted not huge, range of good food on... read more

We arrived her at 2.35pm hoping for a coffee only to find that the place is closed between 2.30 and 5.30. It's only a cafe/snack place so surely it wasn't to much to expect it to be open in the afternoon. obviously the owners don't care about their customers. What opportunities they are missing.

A truly excellent place to eat. The owners and staff are friendly and efficient and the food was cooked and presented perfectly. The restaurant is easy to find and has ample parking for even the largest of camper vans. We ate their three times over our week long stay in this beautiful area and I was delighted with the whole... Amazing views, restaurant in a beautiful location - staff fantastically helpful and friendly- good range of dishes all cooked fresh, kids had fish and chips and scampi and chips which were superb, we had the salmon and venison steak, again superb, puddings were great, an amazing ice cream sundae and homemade chocolate cake and malteser cake were all demolished -... Visit the area many times of the years and it never fails to amaze me. The Jacobite is a place that certainly deserves a visit especially now its been turned into a small motel with fantastic rooms next door to the restaurant/cafe. Its open from morning to night (hasn't always done this) so really pleased us. Scampi I had was... More

We went there for dinner, judging from other reviews the specials aren't so special as they don't change at all. We had a crab, which turned out to be a cheap store bought kind of cold crab/fish salad, stuffed in a crab shell (~12 gbp). The salmon in a whisky sauce is a disaster with a typical supermarket salmon fillet... More

This little restaurant is in an exceptional location (albeit on a busy 'A' road) directly opposite Loch Duich and the views are spectacular. We hadn't booked but we were greeted with a smile and shown to a table, the menu is not huge, which is not a bad thing and there are daily specials available. The atmosphere is friendly and... More

This restaurant was just round the corner from our B&B and we ate there 3 nights out of 4. Reasonably priced/varied menu with daily specials. Good value cakes too, especially the Malteaser Tiffin at £1.80 The staff were welcoming too and it also has a small bar.

Mussels were perfect done in white wine large serving. Did not enjoy the cold crab salad special. Weird texture possibly from breadcrumbs? Served in a crab shell I kept getting bits of shell. Service attentive. I noticed a woman had many allergies and they made substitutions. Great view

Stayed here last week for 3nights. Lovely en suite studio accommodation with the restaurant next door. Fabulous situation looking across at Loch Duich. We were hillwalking for 2 days so it was ideal making your own breakfast and packed lunch in order to set off early in the morning. At check in we were greeted by a very pleasant young... More
