We just stopped outside to view the menu but we're persuaded by the likeable staff to come inside and take a look in front of the fire. Once inside we were captivated by the warmth of the welcome and the delicious food on offer, so made the right choice and stayed. Friendly and informal, with a fine menu of local... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant on our way back from the Isle of Skye and initially was a bit sceptical, as it's based in a train station and the sign towards it generically pointed towards "seafood restaurant". However we got there and found the best meal of our trip to Scotland! The place was nice and intimate, with a fire going... More

The meal was amazing.... The food was perfect- starter, main course and desert was soooo yummy. It only took over 3 years to go there but it is soooo very worth it. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Kyle or nearby places to go and have the freshest seafood. Paula, our waitress was friendly and made our evening... More

Had great hopes for this but was disappointed. Lovely setting and nice decor but the food was a let down. The chowder was thin, should be thick and flavoursome. The venison was over cooked. A great shame, maybe it was just an off day for them.

Food, both fish specials Chowder, and meat specials Venison, were very disappointing. Chowder consisted of thin fish stock with some cream, a few pieces of mini shell fish and one floating large prawn. The 'local' venison fillet was not at all tasty and was tough served with over cooked vegetables. Serving staff not very attentive and somewhat disinterested with diners.... More

If you are going to be a fish restaurant then de-bearding mussels and pin boning fish fillets should be second nature. Sadly not if last night was a good example. The main of baked cod, salad and warm carrots was a missmash, serve it with veg or salad, not both. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent though as were the... More

We stopped in and, despite them having a full house, were given a table for two tucked just a bit behind the bar. The food (mostly shellfish caught by the restaurant's own boat, or other local fish) was delicious! Highly recommended!

We were lucky to get a table as they filled up quickly, so book ahead. It was well worth it, lovely local seafood. Delightful cosy atmosphere that wasn't overdone. The staff was very nice and their red Thai mussels are the best I've ever had! Great experience would love to go again, wish I had a local like this!
