We stopped by for lunch while transiting through the town. The staff were great and the place offered a nice view. It is a rather large place and should be able to take large groups. The servings were quite generous.

I used to stay here regularly but the prices got a bit ridiculous when compared to standard of accomodation. Still pop in when I'm in Kyle for a beer with the view. Food can be anything from ok to indifferent. This time had a lovely piece of fresh haddock, beautifully cooked in nice light batter but totally ruined by the... More

Good selection available for all courses and beautifully cooked. Seafood really, really fresh and the sticky toffee pudding well worth waiting for.

Having taken the scenic train route from Inverness we wanted a good lunch so where else seemed obvious but the Lochalsh Hotel, and we weren't disappointed. All meals are ordered at the bar, where a group of retired locals assed their time away having a good natter, and who didn't mind passing the time of day with visitors. The Hotel... More

We found this hotel while looking for somewhere to eat on our trip. It ticked the boxes as it had wonderful water views over the water. We were given a warm welcome and picked a seat with a great view. We picked the soup of the day (sweet potato, coconut milk and chilli) which was very tasty and we would... More

As a New Orleans native, I was skeptical of the "crayfish cocktail," but it was delicious! More like a Louisiana remoulade than an American shrimp cocktail sauce. Also enjoyed the roast breast of pheasant and the haggis mash... really! Topped off with an excellent Black Forest gateau.

I had serious reservations about eating here as it seems very old fashioned and in need of a bit of a facelift but with no transport we had previously exhausted all that the Kyle has to offer so we decided to give it a go. Bar menu only and that is limited and not terribly inspiring, however the lady behind... More

Have passed the Lochalsh Hotel all my life, finally called in for a coffee. The view was super, ordered a cafetiere of coffee for two (£5) and sat down. Noticed the people at the next table also had a cafetiere, also noticed you could see the sun shining through the coffee! Yup, the coffee was totally undrinkable, just left it... More
