Many of the restaurants we came across in our two week road trip through the Highlands were what I’d class as ‘Pub Grub’. Perfectly acceptable but not exactly ‘fine dining’. It was therefore a pleasure to find the Lime Tree restaurant in the boutique hotel of the same name. Situated at the end of the town in easily walking distance... More

The restaurant is set within the Old Manse, overlooking Loch Linnhe and offers customers an intimate dining experience within comfortable, softly lit and intimate surroundings. The menu offers a thoughtfully compiled and reasonably priced selection of Fine Scottish Fare, served by attentive and cheery staff, all within a few minutes walking distance of the city centre. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night whilst on a mini break to Fort William. I can't praise the staff enough, particularly the young woman who greeted us on arrival and served our table most of the evening. The service was excellent but not intrusive. The food was superb. The amuse-bouche was delicious and a very nice touch.... More

Lovely little restaurant and art gallery. Food was excellent and setting was beautiful. Glad we found it.

The Lime Tree has a lovely location and pleasing décor. They do not seem very well organized though and the food was not exceptional. I wanted to try the West Coast mussels and asked for the main dish size as indicated on the menu. The waitress did not seem to understand what I meant, but finally I did get the... More

Not infrequently I want to award a higher mark than five to an attribute of a restaurant, usually in respect of the food or value for money, but never before have I wanted to score more than five for ambience. The Lime Tree is not only a hotel but also contains an art gallery dominated by the work of owner... More

Last September a group of 10 of us came here, they had a 3 course fixed price menu and it was wonderful - 5 stars. Last week the menu was a la carte, there were 15 of us, many dishes weren't available or only one or two servings available (I had booked this table way in advance); it took over... More

We wondered in on a sunday night but were unable to be seated because the Lime Tree was fully booked, so with a sense of anticipation we booked a table for two for the following evening and we were not disappointed... at the beginning! Beautiful home baked bread and interesting tasty starters washed down with a well chosen Sangiovese; pity... More
