'The Lime Tree Restaurant style is one we have come to know as Fiddly Posh Scottish: Lamb with a family tree, duck that went to Gordonstoun, fish that kept its nose clean. All this technically superb, and while served in a part of the country not blessed with an abundance of fine dining, nonetheless worthy of comparison with the cities best. Fort William finally has a heavy-weight culinary destination.'

Lovely little hotel. Don't be put off by negative reviews, these people expect too much.

I stayed here with my partner in January 2016. It's a lovely little hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner and informed we were the only guests for the night in question. We staid here for 3 nights after booking for one only. The location is excellent, the food is the best in fort William, service is friendly. We were here for climbing and exploring and it was perfect for us.

The Waiter was attentive, the menu interesting and the food was freshly prepared. All finished off by local cheese and port in front of the fire.

Visited Thursday to Saturday this week. 6 of us had dinner in the restaurant on Thursday evening. Great service and food excellent. I had the duck starter which was fabulous and my main was the bulabaise fish stew. This was wonderful and packed with all kinds of seafood including 2 massive langostines. Friends opted for chef's interpretation of cod biriani.... More

Clean, bright room. Convivial atmosphere. Tasty modern Scottish food that was clever enough to be interesting but not so clever as to be annoying. We ignored the wine pairing suggestions on the menu but nevertheless I think it's a nice touch. Will make definite plans to come back when in town again.

I had read the mixed reviews on Lime Tree but based on the menu and pictures, we were sure gonna have some really good food. But having eaten there, our feelings are mixed and overall a bit disappointed. The menu choice and constellation of dishes is nice. The presentation of the food, especially the amuse bouche, is great and very... More
