The haggis, neeps and tatties come in here at a totally different level than in the average Scottish kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised after a strenuous hike of the West Highland Way, where Scottish food generally is served in large, but repetitious preparations. Lime Tree shows that also in Scotland refinement is possible, however there still is a margin for... More

Attractive location in a small hotel along the Loch. Service was attentive. Several items on the menu unavailable, bread mediocre. Starters we had were adequate - mussels fresh, seafood bisque. Tomato artichoke pie awful - too salty, seafood bouillabaisse OK. Overpriced.

This is the best restaurant in Fort William. We have eaten here for 3 years now and it just gets better! We ate here on 2 consecutive night this visit. The staff are attentive and welcoming. The food is just wonderful. The chef worked hard to ensure that my dietary requirements were met. He even created a special dessert for... More

My partner and I went here for dinner to celebrate her birthday on a weekend away in Fort William. I'm glad we came, as the food was amazing, the pork was some of the best food I have eaten in a long time. Service was friendly and the price, £90 for 3 courses, 2 drinks plus tip, seemed fair. Highly... More

My son and I were recommended to eat here by a man we met outside a pub. He seemed convincing so we accepted his advice and were delighted we did. We had, as starters, haggis, neeps and tatties, and smoked haddock souffle, followed of beef bourguignon and duck and orange ballotine. Desserts were bakewell tart icecream and chocolate bavarois. All... More

On our first night in Fort William the proprietors of our B&B succeeded in booking us here for dinner. We were greeted and seated in a map room where we had aperitifs of single malts and two glasses of Malvasia. Our waiter was a Hungarian woman who was very conscientious but new to this restaurant and just learning about the... More

Many of the restaurants we came across in our two week road trip through the Highlands were what I’d class as ‘Pub Grub’. Perfectly acceptable but not exactly ‘fine dining’. It was therefore a pleasure to find the Lime Tree restaurant in the boutique hotel of the same name. Situated at the end of the town in easily walking distance... More

The restaurant is set within the Old Manse, overlooking Loch Linnhe and offers customers an intimate dining experience within comfortable, softly lit and intimate surroundings. The menu offers a thoughtfully compiled and reasonably priced selection of Fine Scottish Fare, served by attentive and cheery staff, all within a few minutes walking distance of the city centre. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night whilst on a mini break to Fort William. I can't praise the staff enough, particularly the young woman who greeted us on arrival and served our table most of the evening. The service was excellent but not intrusive. The food was superb. The amuse-bouche was delicious and a very nice touch.... More
