We stopped by for Afternoon Tea in the salon with family and were warmly greeted and had an excellent lunch. I am a travel agent and asked to see the rooms and suites and was very impressed with the very size of the rooms and suites. The guests were reading in the lobby area and used this space more like... Very interesting historical attraction. Unfortunately not manned so the same coach load of Chinese youths who must have followed us from the nearby commando memorial, acted exactly the same. Shouting, screaming and climbing and damaging the walls of the historic castle.

We are two working girls from the States and, while we kept our cool, we did little to hide our excitement as we dined here for dinner. The staff here is impeccable. The sommelier magically appeared to answer questions about wine-pairing -- they treated us like royalty. Ordering the cheese dish for dessert was practically a show in itself as... More

We had dinner at Inverlochy Castle during our stay there. It was a unique, formal dining experience that is not your typical dining experience. Pre dinner drinks were served in the living room where there was a fireplace - very handy for a cold night on Skye. We were then led into the dining room which overlooked the gardens. The... More

Lunch at Inverlochy Castle was very special, not to mention expensive; but, a worthwhile indulgence, especially when celebrating a milestone birthday at a Michelin Single-Starred restaurant. Our friends had made this reservation several weeks before our arrival in Scotland to celebrate a 65th birthday, which was unbeknownst to our hosts. After our experience with them, I now wonder what would... More

The castle is well signed and easy to get to from Fort William. It is only the ruins left but worth a visit. It was raining the day we went - could have spent more time if a lovely day.

We went for dinner here as part of our honeymoon having read about it in the Michelin Guide and we were not disappointed. From the very moment we stepped out of the taxi, we were made to feel like royalty. The Castle itself is stunning and the views from the drawing and dining room were unbelievable. The service was absolutely... More

Stopped off at this hotel on route to Skye. Unfortunately we were too late for the Michelin star restaurant menu (finishes at 1.45pm) but had some food from the light lunch menu. The club sandwich was probably one of the best I have ever tasted. It was a sunny day so we had lunch outside and admired the views whilst... More

Food was excellent, not our best in Scotland but very good. Service was excellent but stuffy. Very formal room. We ate there 3 nights and it was great the first 2 nights. After that we wanted more informal fare and service.

Location - Inverlochy is set in some beautiful scenery. No wonder Queen Victoria loved it! House - Absolutely charming - feels like you are in a friend's home rather than a hotel. Food - Deserves the Michelin star. Excellent scallops, wonderful lamb and delicious chocolate tart. Service is where the improvements can be made. Cromlix House knocks spots off Inverlochy... More
