I had booked this restaurant because of the location and after dinner live music (Ceilidh). The dinner took place in the bar area, since that was where the music would be played later. The meal was good, the boys especially loved their multi-layered hamburgers and special chips. We were somewhat bemused by an Italian familly that turned up late (20:30... More

After our walk to the viaduct we popped over the road for lunch. Ordering for the bar menu was easy and we enjoyed the authenticity of is Scottish hotel as well as its wonderful location on the shore of loch shiel. It was also a great place to warm up and dry off with the fireplace in the corner!

We ate here on the last night of our holiday and wanted somewhere special. We were not disappointed. The views from the hotel, as other reviewers have mentioned, are spectacular, though this was ruined slightly by the torrential rain! Other than that there was a very nice atmosphere, we appreciated the log fire on our way in, and the staff... More

We ate at this restaurant on the recommendation of our B&B hostess (Kismul House, Morar) and Catherine was right - it was a great atmosphere, lovely views and the food was great. The carnivores in the party enjoyed their salmon starters, mains of pork on black pudding mash - myself the vegetarian options (yes I had a choice for a... More

As always Glenfinnan is a wonderful experience, amazing views, friendly staff good food and atmosphere, the food really is well made and selection of different dishes is nice, highly recommended for anyone visiting, the only downside is its certainly a premium price for food and drink, but if you can afford it, don't miss it.

I met Chef/proprietor, Duncan Gibson, when he was head chef at the Relais and Chateau hotel, Arisaig House. This is a man who knows where he is going, and quality is what he is all about. Genfinnan House is steeped in history and one can not help but be engulfed in this as soon as you enter this wonderful old... More

Stopped off at the Glenfinnan House Hotel prior to a 30 mile trek into the Scottish wilderness. This was to be our last 'proper' meal for three days and what a meal it was. The food was excellent, full of flavour and freshness - the steak was especially good. The service was also excellent, very relaxed, friendly and helpful, letting... More

Stayed here for 4 days in September and it was excellent. A warm welcome and very comfortable room with enormous bathroom. Shortbread, a bowl of fruit and a tray of tea and coffee etc and a bottle of water renewed daily. Always ate in the restaurant and the staff were most helpful and friendly. Food absolutely excellent and wine list... More
