Came here for the exquisite 7-course taster menu with wine. Everything was lovely, nice thin glasses, polished cutlery and a starched napkin set us up for a night of opulence in the restaurant. Every course and wine was explained in detail. Being the only table in needless to say the service was flawless!

We were a lunch party of 14 celebrating a colleague's 60th Birthday. Travelling from all over Scotland , the day took some organising but Abstact certainly played its part in ensuring a great day was had by all. The Manager, Ben and his whole team were superb - polite , efficient, knowledgeable and able. We had drinks on arrival in... More

With a Michelin Guide mention, 3 AA rosetta and high trip advisor score this place had a lot to live up to. We were not disappointed, we chose the full tasting men with a cocktail in the piano bar to kick us off. With a choice of fish or meat for one of the courses - I chose a crab... More

We picked this Hotel restaurant for our Xmas day lunch as I had been here for dinner previously and really enjoyed it. We booked well in advance and unlike most places only had to pay a small deposit of £10pp. On arrival we were greeted by reception staff who took our coats and seated us. Tables were nicely decorated and... More

For location you can do no better in Inverness, peaceful riverside frontage within a short walk of the town centre but far enough away to gain a sense of tranquility. Abstract feels unpretentious quality as soon as you walk in. Staff courteous and professional. The adjoining lounge bar makes for the perfect civilised start to your evening meal, and indeed... Found this to be a really well put-together tasting menu with quality food. Although the matched wines were nothing fantastic they certainly didn't take away from the food. Everyone who served us was extremely polite and professional although the service was a tad slow at times. Would make this your first choice if you're looking for an Inverness restaurant. Especially... More

We had the tasting menu and overall really enjoyed it although we did feel that there were some elements that didn't quite work, perhaps a case of trying too hard? The service was great, as was the atmosphere, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
