Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

Lovely place

Not often I take to a resterant but I have been here twice now, once with the girls and again with hubby. I was impressed both times. The steak I had on the second visit was perfect.

We enjoy eating here. The waitors and waitresses always look after us well. It is better to book as it is always busy!

Luckily I had booked a table for a Thursday lunch as it was busy which is a good sign. Good table by a window upstairs and we ate from the lunch time menu (2 courses) which had good choices and was good value. Food was served promptly, hot and with a smile. I would certainly recommend and will be back... More

Biggest tip for anyone thinking of going, phone and book a table, this place is very busy. The food is excellent and well worth the money. Like all restaurants lunch is a lot cheaper....if you cannot get a table in here, try the sister restaurant, The Kitchen just across the river

I visited The Mustard Seed with my girlfriend and had a lovely experience. The food was great and so was the service. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and was overall very welcoming. Would defiantly recommend dining here.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal at the Mustard Seed. I had a highland cow filet that was delicious. Great ambiance, and romantic but not stuffy. Worth the stop.

ordered a steak . Was delivered with 'skinny chips' as per the well known burger bars. Complained to the waitress. Surprisingly she agreed with me and told me she had suggested to the chef that many customers would prefer real home made potato chips when buying a steak. Lovely waitress tried her best but I was left with an overcooked... More

Completely delicious food, and ridiculously cheap. Great venue with lots of atmosphere and a real fire overlooking the river Ness. Definitely recommend.

This is a lovely restaurant. The early evening menu is really good value, plenty of choice and decent potion size. It has a lovely atmosphere, nice fire and very friendly service. Seven of us ate here and no-one had a bad thing to say. All the meals were lovely and I wouldn't miss this if I go back to Inverness... More
