Description: Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

We enjoyed the food very much but found the service awkward and self-important. We left well fed but irritated.

Saturday night in Inverness and oh so happy I had booked in advance as all tables were taken. Smooth operation with efficient turnover of tables. fair mix of couples, parties and families. Good menu with a fair amount of specials on offer leaning towards fish and seafood. Very disappointing to learn that the last beef wellington had just been sold... More

This is an absolutely perfect restaurant! The owner of a B&B several miles from Inverness recommended it as having really great food, which it does, but the service is also over the top as well as the beautiful view of River Ness from the upstairs dining area. Not too expensive either. Presentation of every dish, desserts included is outstanding.

We had a wonderful meal here...everything was great...including the service and prices. If we lived closer we would be back...a great menu selection and long wine list...go there...

Loved our dinner at Mustard Seed. Best dinner of a 2 week trip. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Be sure to make reservations, especially on the weekends!

Superb food and great and attentive service. Recommend booking as the word has got around that this is one of the best places in town. The kitchen is open late which suits the long summer evenings. Highly recommended

We were given a table by the window overlooking the river. The place was packed probably because of the early bird deal. Food was fab and imaginative.

Eaten here quite often, a couple of evening meals, as a couple and as a foursome. Also had more than a few 2 course (priced down to be competitive with other linch venues nrarby) lunches. Pay extra or suppliments on most menu offeriings. Lots of parties ( be prepared for noise!) take place here so rarely quiet or intimate. Riverside... More
