Description: Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

A neighbor who had lived in Scotland told us we had to eat at Mustard Seed Restaurant in Inverness. After our B&B owner seconded the recommendation, we booked a table. I am so glad we took their advice as we had the single best meal in our over 3 week vacation. Upon arriving, we were taken to a table upstairs... More

They fill up quite quickly, so if you want dinner before 8:00pm, get a reservation. The food is outstanding, along with an extensive wine list. Bottled beer only, but a nice selection. They offer nightly specials, based on local catch and seasonal vegetables. Start with the mussels!!! If you like mussels, the starter is huge, a steaming bucket of about... More

This place was fantastic! The food was great and they had many gluten free options on their menu. The service was good and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a great restaurant, especially for celiac's.

Found out about this restaurant from Trip Advisor and glad we went. Food is very good, they change the specials regularly and the main menu is varied. Nice atmosphere, quirky layout (they have an upstairs area too). It made a nice change to go somewhere that isn't an Italian restaurant chain, just good British food! Very popular so definitely make... More

Went for lunch at the Mustard seed, sister restaurant to the Kitchen Brasserie, along side the River Ness. The food is as good here as the latter , every bit as tasty and as good value, I have to say the two are on a parr for for the food, ambience, service, and position. The only difference is The mustard... More

We had dinner there this week. This busy bustling restaurant attracts an eclectic clientele. Following a warm welcome we were shown to a table upstairs which pleased us as downstairs it was very noisy. The waitress dressed in non starched chef's jacket took our order and provided us with good food service skills. The dishes were well presented and very... More

The food was delicious, the staff very attentive and the atmosphere great for a romantic dinner. I would recommend making a reservation, even during the week.
