Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

Ate here as a last meal of our girls long weekend break. Had booked a table for the 5 of us for a Monday night and it was very busy. The waitress was young but very professional: dressed well, spoke well and attended to us very well. One of our party didn't like anything on the menu so plumped... read more

The restaurant is easy access just situate by the river. Look carefully for small yellow tag on the corner of the building. Interior is good. All food that we have ordered are tasty and impressed. Cocktails here is wonderful so we can't stop order more and more. (Mango martini is an interesting one, not sure about the name but it... More

I regularly visit this restaurant and every time I do I'm always left impressed! The service and choice of food is always great and now they have cocktails on the menu too! I frequently have birthday/anniversary meals here and will be returning soon!

The B&B where I was staying recommended The Mustard Seed to me, and I very pleased they did. Went for the two course lunch £8.95 and timed it perfectly as not long after I arrived people were being turned away as they were full. Enjoyed the roast red pepper cream cheese on toast with Parma ham & chilli dressing followed... More

A very busy venue on the riverside in Inverness. The staff are attentive and the food is good - give them a ring and book and watch numerous people being turned away at the door.

Visited this restaurant at lunch time. It was very busy (it is advisable to book) but the service was excellent. They do a 2 course lunch for £8.95 and there is a wide selection of starters and main courses. I had tomato and basil soup which was delicious and chicken with a rich sauce, mashed potatoes and a side dish... More

I haven't been to the Mustard seed for about 10 years but went for lunch today due to friends / colleagues giving good reviews so thought it would be worth a try again. I don't know if they were having an off day, but I was not impressed. The Mustard Seed itself is a lovely building, wonderful high sealing and... More

This was our fourth visit and food, service and atmosphere was as good as always. The menu is concise but we have always found a starter and a main that we like. This time we chose from the 'specials board' and had an excellent piece of hake on caponata. Book a table to avoid being turned away!

In the past have only visited The Mustard Seed with my wife whilst on short breaks, however I've been in Inverness on business for a few days and absolutely kicking myself that I only had one meal here! I thought I would try the rest but after lunch today, it really is the best! A warm welcome every time, I... More
