Description: Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

It had been a few years since my last visit, but I was happy that they were still offering wonderful food in a lovely and lively atmosphere! The specials are always special and their early bird menu was a hit with our group. If you don't mind dining early I highly recommend it. This is always a "must stop" for... More

We took a chance without a reservation and were extremely lucky to get a table for two for lunch in this busy but extremely friendly Inverness Restaurant. Several subsequent on spec diners were turned away so it is recommended to book ahead. What immediately struck us was the general air of happiness and willingness to engage and serve shown by... Loved the ambience of the restaurant - the menu was amazing, the service good and food was amazing. 3 courses for 4 people with drinks and a carafe of wine was £140. I was very happy to leave a good tip. I will definitely be back next visit.

Dropped in with the family for an early dinner. Led to a lovely table upstairs overlooking the river. Made even better by some fabulous weather in late August. Nice menu including haggis bonbon starters. All the food and service was excellent and the wine reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere in an interesting old building that has been cleverly converted.

Yes I am a bit of a foodie. But i look for more than just good food in a restaurant, it has to be the whole package. We were taken to the Mustard Seed by relatives whilst on holiday in Inverness and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent, the service was attentive and fast, the wine selection good,... More

Have been to the mustard seed many times and it has never failed to impress.usually go for the "pre-theatre" menu which is two course for £11.95. Fantastic value for a starter and main of this quality. The black pudding salad was delicious and a good size for a starter and the (21 day matured) rump steak was cooked to perfection... More

Our dinner here was beautiful. We both had the special of Beef Wellington served with haggis and whiskey cream sauce - to die for. Great service. Packed out although mid week. Suggest you book.
