Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

Great meal and nice ambiance! We were lucky to get a last minute late seating and loved our meal. The chef even came by to see how we liked it! We got the VIP treatment!

I ate at this restaurant today, and had a very good meal. The staff were helpful and attentive and the meal was great! My only problem was the menu was a bit too small, but nonetheless kudos to the chefs! Thank you so much for the wonderful food.

The Positives: 1. Our waiter added value to our meal. He was funny, prompt, and knew the menu well. 2. Our waiter was also polite, interested in us, and was willing to take the time to answer our tourist questions. 3. Menu items have GF written next to them for gluten free. And there were many items from which to... More

Called in on the off chance for lunch as we hadn't been in for ages.An absolute pleasure to be greeted with genuine warmth by staff who care that you have come through the door. Well balanced lunch menu, not just the usual offerings. My wives starter of fried white sausage salad and my smoked haddock pate with pickle were perfect. We... More

Went to the mustard seed for Sunday lunch and enjoyed it so much, we returned for lunch on Monday! We are visiting Inverness for a mini break so did not know the area. We found the staff to be welcoming and friendly. They were attentive and accommodating and the roaring log fire was an additional pleasure on a cold day.... More

Had a great dinner here with my husband. We had mussels, fillet steaks, chocolate caramel tarts, and a boozer sunday. It was all delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful and our server was attentive and friendly! It was so good we booked to go back tomorrow on our last night in Inverness! Definitely check it out!
