As good as any restaurant meal at pub prices

Our last few days in Scotland so for a Scottish experience decided to have the Highland chicken wrapped in bacon on haggis with black pudding mash, pepper sauce and green beans, can't say I loved the mash but have no complaints. We were actually trying to get a meal at The Castle Tavern, but the place was jammed so we saw Number 27 on our walk back to the city center. The posted menu looked good (and there was a TripAdvisor logo over the door) so we gave it a shot. Fantastic meal and a good selection of beer. Having been... More

Visited with a friend for a quiet night out. Well, there was a stag night in that for some reason had to shout at each other all night. Not the restaurants fault I suppose but allowing a large group of guys in on a Saturday night is not a good idea. They seemed to get louder as the night went... More

Haggis bonbons followed by a 'Hee land' burger all washed down with some good dark beer. Perfect! Friendly and helpful staff too...

We came upon No 27 by chance when walking around Inverness, liked the menu, went straight in and booked for the next evening. It more than lived up to our expectations: food, service, atmosphere were all great. My venison burger was excellent, my wife said her steak was one of the best she's ever had, and cooked to perfection. A... More

Had early dinner here. Food certainly very good overall. Definitely worth four stars. Venison burger did not impress. Panne cotta seriously good!

Had both dinner and lunch here. Service for lunch was excellent, but at dinner after ordering it did take around 30 minutes for our main order to arrive. However, the food quality was excellent and well worth the wait. My only moan would be the Whisky - I would love it if they could stock more premium whisky. Well worth... More

Food is okay here but the drinks are SO expensive. We used to regularly go here but the price is very offputting. I would expect prices like these to match somewhere that didn't have wonky chairs and miserable bar staff. No craic about them at all!

The first time we went for the 'steak night' we were impressed by the value for money! £20 all in for a steak dinner and glass of wine.... Not bad at all!! The second time it was just as good.... Lovley bit of rump steak , cooked exactly as asked...tasy mushrooms, tomatoes and onion marmalade and fries... Along with a... More
