Late one morning, in a side-street near downtown Inverness, we chanced upon The Rendezvous Café, a great place for breakfast & lunch. It's small--7 tables inside, 2 outside--so you might have to wait awhile, but it's worth it. The menu features traditional Scottish fare like haggis, black pudding and tattie (potato) scones, but they also serve sandwiches, pasta dishes, and... More

Went there for a Scottish breakfast and ended up getting the best tip ever about visiting the Highlands. If it had not been for the owner's suggestion, we would have missed all the amazing sights along the southeastern road to Loch Ness.

I was determined to have porridge for breakfast while in Scotland and this was the place to go! Warm and creamy, with berries and honey, it was perfect! The service was very friendly and welcoming and there seemed to be a mix of locals and visitors enjoying the fare. Had we stayed in Inverness longer I would have returned to... More

My partner and I both had pancakes, which were really delicious. The waitress and chef were friendly and we received our food quickly. Prices were decent too!

I came here for breakfast, had black pudding (my favourite) and potato scones with a pot of tea. Locals tend to pour in here for breakfast and lunch and the waiting staff are quite known to the locals as evident by them having pretty animated conversations and people just dropping by to say hello. The place is small and relatively... More

Had a breakfast here and it really was good with a great choice of items in any combination. The waitress was so friendly and chatty and even sat down next to some customers to take their orders. Yes it may have that 'greasy spoon' feel when you enter but the excellent food and great service make it a good place... More

My son and I had a lovely lunch recently while visiting Scotland on a group tour. We did not feel like joining the rest of the group on their Hop On-Hop Off bus, but rather preferred a walking tour near our hotel. What a gem we found in the Rendezvous! Zac had a roast beef sandwich and I had carrot... More

This is one of my favourites for lunch in Inverness. I like the simplistic feel of the cafe it isnt trying to be something its not. The staff are so friendly here and the lunch is great value. My favourite is the goats cheese honey and onion panini delicious, an unusual combination but its great! Although the cafe is small... More
