If you want to taste good Scottish food, don't miss this place. I've never eaten such a wonderful dinner in the UK! Here you can have Scottish specialities as well as regular pub fare. I went with a friend, and we had haggis and scampi. What can I say...? The haggis was tasty, rich in flavour, with a delightful sauce.... More

It was after 9pm and we hadn't gotten dinner. Our B&B host suggested this place. When we got there, there was no room in the restaurant but they found us a table in the bar-same menu. We enjoyed the food, had fun talking to the service staff, and were able to relax after a long day of vacationing!

The Castle Tavern is conveniently located just up the hill from downtown Inverness. It's outside tables offer a pleasant view of the castle and the River Ness. Good pub grub and a good selection of beers are offered at a reasonable price. If it rains, there is very little seating on the inside so diners should keep close attention to... More

Nice enough pub, staff are friendly and a good selection of real ale. Terrace would be nice on a summers day albeit it is right on a busy road junction but I could live with that for the beer ;) sat upstairs and watched the tennis on the television in nice surroundings. Didn't eat in the pub but there were... More

Nice pub in town. Very enjoyable food and service. The owner did his best to accommodate us even though it was late and the place was full.

Excellent little pub, we were lucky to arrive when we did as they were very busy and we hadn't made a reservation. We were given a very good table upstairs and thoroughly enjoyed our food. They have a good selection of real ale on tap as well and they do a 3 x 1/3 pint tasting bat which is also... More

We had heard about it, so we asked the address and went to it. The personnel was very cold and somehow rude, like we were interrupting something. Then we ordered the food, it was terrible! We found nothing satisfactory there. That can be because we were foreigners, which makes the situation even worse. I will never go back there again,... More

Just had the roast beef special. Beef was really tender, gravy was delicious and the potatoes were good. My small criticism is that the portion of veg was small. More veg please!

Charming little Scottish pub near the castle, staff were very helpful and meals (haggis and Cullen skink) were delicious. We had a problem with our order and they were very generous and handled it in the best way possible. Definitely going back...

Stopped by several times while in the Highlands. Absolutely wonderful place, good beer selection, well kept, and attentive, knowledgeable staff. The location is excellent and the outside seating a great place to just chill in the sun and watch the world go by with a pint or three.
