Nice Restaurant at Loch Ness

Excellent food & great location. I would highly recommend to book a table in advance if you want to sit in the restaurant. (They also have some tables in the bar)

Service was prompt; menu selections were good. Most of the foods were of Scottish recipes; they were well prepared and tasty. Presentation of the food was not exceptional, however -- rather plain and simple.

We stayed for two nights on the eastern side of Loch Ness at Pottery House. Hosts there recommended Dores Inn and we took them up on their recommendation. Food was great, service excellent. Booking and absolute essential during the busy period. We saw many people turned away who hadn't booked. Don't be one of these as you will miss out... More

Because there are not too many restaurants in the area, Dores Inn gets very busy. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we had rather a production line, basic pub meal rather than a dining experience. Didn't get to try the fish and chips as they had sold out. Overall, a pleasant evening and we would go back if in... More

Visited this well known and popular Gastro pub on a very busy Saturday evening. Thankfully we had booked as the place was packed to the rafters with people looking for tables or already seated (the lucky ones!!!) Maybe the music festival going on in the village played a huge part in the over populace. Considering how busy the restaurant was... More

This pub was just a short walk away from The Pottery House Band B. The menu was a little limited - several items had been taken off - but the fish and chips were enjoyable and the portions were large. We had a table next to the back door so we had a great view of Loch Ness.

It's a 20 minute drive from Inverness to this delightful old inn right on the south bank of moody Loch Ness. If you haven't a car, I think the Inn has a minibus that will pick you up from Inverness and take you back afterwards. The charming white stone of the buildings is carried indoors. As you enter, there's the... More

My friend and I had a very pleasant lunch here one afternoon. We arrived right at the peak of the lunch rush so of course they were busy, yet we still got a table right away. They ran out of one of the specials while we were reviewing the menu, but it wasn't a problem. The menu itself was an... More

We really enjoyed our meal at the Dores Inn. Yes, we had to book - it's not a big place and it is popular. We were seated in a room with a big, very noisy group and we were struggling to hear each other, but that's what happens sometimes. However the staff noticed and moved us to another room which... The Dores Inn right on the waterfront of Loch Ness offers next to "typical" pub food an unexpected selection of fine dishes on a high standard for such a small pub and is therefor very crowded most of the times. So it's better to reserve a table in advance if you don't want to wait at the bar for the... More
